The base concept of the burner missions, was to introduce PVP content into the PVE missions. What we get is a system where people are using totally unranked ships , that don't have prop mode, or even disruptor. Even when people drop 50 chars on a single burner he will still try to fight without disengaging.
What i propose is to fix this situation : when burner is low on armor or mission pocked is bloobed with capsules he will try to disengage and warp off.
If the capsuler fail to stop him - mission is failed.
This will force players to mount both prop mods, and warp distributors or scrambles depending on the situation.
Without this Burner rats cannot be considered as a PVP element in mission system.

I've never done a burner mission and don't remember the exact wording of the description of them when they first came out,
but I know I've seen people say several times that the purpose of burner missions was NOT specifically to give a "PVP" experience to PVE players. That CCP never said that, and that the purpose of the missions was just to give a different experience, new challenge, etc.
NOT to emulate PVP.
Since I haven't done them, I have no opinion on the suggestion. Just trying to pass along the relevant info I've heard.

Dude, if a player pulled a **** a burner does I'd petition so fast the GMs wouldn't know what hit them.
They're no closer to a PvP experience than Dagan and furthermore they were explicitly stated to be nothing like PvP nor was that their aim. Their aim was a fitting puzzle. |

You do realise this would make burner mission even more stacked on perfect ship+fit combo right? |

They don't need to be a PvP experience. Just something with a bit more bite than normal missions.
Would like normal missions to be a hybrid of the two or extensions of the burners
EVE FAQ "7.2 CAN I AVOID PVP COMPLETELY? No; there are no systems or locations in New Eden where PvP may be completely avoided" "So it will be up to a pilot to remain vigilant wherever they may be flying and be ready for anything at any time"

Why add such a restriction ? If the 5 guys are complete newbies trying to overcome a powerful NPC and it takes 5 of them, fine ! If the 5 guys are experienced players, they'll only get 1/5 the reward each and it probably won't be worth it.
If you don't like blobbing burners, don't do it, there is no need to add a restriction to all players.
And regarding your initial suggestion, I like how burner missions are right now. They're pretty tough to figure out and give an interesting challenge compared to normal missions. Of course it's not a perfect emulation of real PVP, but it's a step closer than normal missions - and no matter how hard you try, you'll never emulate the behaviour of a real player.

If they happen to all be the same player then thats little different to multi boxing mining, missions, anoms and even PvP.

You're suggesting the game be gimped to the 5 nebros level. That's just an absurd argument. I think the thunderdome idea is great.
Make burners totally solo and totally challenging. If you don't like the idea - decline the burner mission.
By all means, if you want to blob missions then go for it, but the concept of a difficult unblobbable mission has a lot of merit. There is enough 'easy peasy' content - it doesn't all have to have an easy peasy option.

I though you wanted them to be more PvP like. Why can't I overpower the target with my friends/alt like I can in other PvP encounter? |
