Would it be a good idea to have weapon groups?
I have 7 launchers, but 2 launchers will kill a Frigate, 3 a Destroyer, 5 a Cruiser etc.
If we had the ability to group weapons into different configurations and select via a button it would be a lot better to manage, not to mention saving ammo.
Is anyone here of the same mindset? |

You can already do this. Just drag them onto each other in the configuration you want.

I know you can do this, what I am suggesting is you can preset a group and not have to drag all the time, similar to the ship fittings setting.
Either have 1 button that cycles through the presets or 3 buttons that can be selected. |

Get a keyboard with macro keys, ungroup all your launchers, and program the macro keysnto hit the proper number of f-keys to fird however many launchers you want.
Of course, after about 5 minutes you'll be sick of constantly having launchers in reload because they're not all firing at once, so you ve got one launcher at full capacity, two at half, three at 10%, and one reloading.
EvE is hard. It's harder if you're stupid.

or will use n groups which are never mixed.

Actually split launcher groups are by far the smartest way to use rapid X missiles if you are not damage locked. It circumvents the long reload time and being caught with bad ammo loaded. It also means you don't luck out and hit a resist hole, but for me the consistent performance is worth its weight in gold. |
