Are there any tricks, gotchas, or whatever that I should know about running multiple clients on one machine? Should I be running them from separate installation directories or anything like that?
Thanks! ---------- Sig removed, please use EVE related signatures only - Xorus Oh, come on! This ninja had lasers and EVE has lasers. It's totally EVE related! >:(

there is no secret in running multiple clients in the same computer, you only need a good computer, nothing else, not even more space in the hard drive because you can run multiple instances of the same client -----------------------------

Just make sure you turn off the sound on one of the clients else it often crashes.

I used to run multiple instances of the same install on my computer, but the crashes were frequent even with sound disabled on both clients. After making another copy of my Eve folder and running one client from each install, I've had very minimal problems except for the random crashes associated with dual-core procs (though less frequently than others, it seems). You might have different results depending on your hardware configuration. If you have any problems running 2 clients from one install, just make another folder.
I'm working on it! |

When you run the game on a single client does it have to be a paying account or can you run two, one as a trial account? FTW |

I read somewhere you cant run two clients on a machine if one is a trial.

You most certainly can.
In fact, you can run three clients on one machine if one is a trial and two aren't. Having multiple monitors, a good video card, and oodles of RAM helps here.

Nope you can't. I even tried logging in with a trial first, and then on my regular char but that made my client running the trial account disconnect.
This was possible before the revelations patch though.

You CAN NOT run trail account and normal at the same time. Go look at revelation patch notes as it was changed there. May Your Death Be Slow And Painful
