Edited by: Rakeris on 25/12/2006 09:29:38 It was my understanding that when you jumped to a clone at the same station it would destroy the clone you where jumping FROM, not the one you where jumping TO? Is this correct? As I just did it, and lost the clone I was jumping to. I was in some kind of limbo state for a little while, I wasn't able to do anything, was quite strange.
Quote: 2006.12.25 09:17:14 Notify In order to do that action, you need to be inside a ship or even a pod. Please find one and board it.
Any ideas? Thanks!

you always get that error after jump cloneing, until you board a ship

Could you be more specific about what happened? When you jump to a clone, your old clone remains there and you enter the one you jumped to.
Let's say you have two jump clones: A and B. A is in Station 1, B is in Station 2, you are in Station 3.
Now, if you jump to Station 1, clone A will dissapear since you will be in it. Your old body will become a clone, let's call it C. So in the end you will have 2 clones: B in Station 2 and C in Station 3. You will be in Station 2.
Looking at the notify you got, it looks like you were trying to undock right after clone jumping. There is a bug with that and I reported it but I won't get into details. To undock you need to enter a ship, so if you had no ship in that station, you would get a free noob ship. If you trashed it, jus buy another ship (shuttle would do) and enter the ship. After that you can exit the ship and undock in your pod.
Hope it helps.
When in doubt, send a petition or a bug report, whatever is appropriate. If you lost a clone, petition the loss. _____________

Ok, already filed a petition. With more detail than my post. Sorry :p
Anyhow, I've clone jumped many, many times and never had any problems.
I wasn't triying to undock, trying to deliver some ammo that had got done...being made. But I got the same error when I tried to enter a ship, or do just about anything. So I reloged and it seems to have fixed it, but apon reloging I check my implants and they are all missing, I'm not sure what happened exactly...if for some reason the clone I was jumping to got destroyed, or if my implants decided to go south?
Was quite strange to say the least, hopfully they have logs for these kinda things, I'd hate to have to go get anouther set of implants...

My understanding is that if you jump clone into a clone into the same station it will destroy your implants in those clones. IÆm not sure if its only the implants in the clone you where jumping to or both but I know it will destroy some. Since it hasnÆt changed since jump clones where introduced I can assume itÆs meant to be a feature.
Also you don't lose any clones when you jump between jump clones it just takes 24 hours before you can jump again.

Heck, half the clones I have placed with my main have just... vanished.
At one time I had 4, some of them had some high end implants. But a while back I noticed I had 3 though I had not been podded or used my jump clones. Then I noticed that there were only 2. Now just 1, with no implants, and my main.
They randomly vanish if not used, I guess.

Well, I got a GM reply and it seems that is what it is suppose to do, it destroys the clone you are jumping to, no dea why, but it does. The question it askes before you do it, really needs to be better worded.

It seems you are debating semantics here. In game terms when you perform a clone jump, a jump clone is created in the station you jump from, you are moved to the target station and the clone at the target station is destroyed.
The only way your number of jump clones can decrease is 1) you deliberately destroy it or 2) you jump FROM a station that already holds a clone (there cannot be more than one jump clone per station - I don't know why)

That's where you're wrong. You are supposed to ENTER the clone at the target station. IE, you enter the clone, and any implants you may have left in it will now be..in your head.
Did i ask for anyone to copy this into their sig? No, ****heads, its my text, not yours.

Exactly. And after you entered the clone, there is NO jump clone at that station, it has disappeared/been destroyed, whatever you want to call it (which could be what the GM mentioned above was referring to).

Edited by: Rakeris on 25/12/2006 20:26:27 The Oposite actually, I was told that when to jump to a clone at the same station it destroys the clone, that you are jumping to.
So, if you are in clone A and jumping to clone B, and you and the JC are at the same station it will destroy clone B, and leave you in clone A. Makes no since to me...but that is what he said. =\
Or where you talking about JC in general?

I JCed about 4 days ago and I still have a pod in my assets window from the station where I jumped out.
