Ok, any ship can be fine but as Command Ships go how does the Absolution stack up (for some reason I never ever see a Damnation so I assume it is borked for some reason).
Before anyone says train up for the Nighthawk or something understand all I need left for the Amarr Command Ship is BC to 5. If I were to go for anything else I'd have to do all that cruiser training again and I am not going there again for awhile.

Yes, it's a great ship. -
- One ship to jam them all, one ship to damp them. One ship to suck them dry and in the dark void gank them. |

Yes, its a great ship.
For PvE and for pvp.
It also greats great damage related bonuses for the command ship skill so theres a lot of value in training that up to at least 4.

Everything said is right, cs like the absolution are awesome ships to fly and happen to be cheaper than HAC options atm and also tend to be better in tanking and firepower, a pleasure to fly.
Also the reason you won't see many damnations are that they are a fleet command ship and so have bonuses towards gang modules as can use 3, this does mean that it is only given 4 turrets but the other high slots SHOULD be used for gang mods on fleet command ships. (well unless you have an eos)

Absolution and Damnation are different class ships, Absolution is a Field CS and the Damnation is a Fleet CS. The difference being that Field CS is an offensive orientated combatship where as the Fleet CS is a defense orientated support ship. You can also see that in the skill requirement list. Field requires HAC skills while Fleet requires Logistics skills, and not a lot of ppl bother with the Logistic cruisers. Far as I know there's nothing wrong with the Damnation, it's just not as much a solopwn mobile as it's brother.

I fly a fully corpum/officer fitted absolution on one of my alts (**** your locator agents ) with a dual corpum rep and I'm telling you the tank's insane it's not normal it's like ''oh hey nice vindicator GOT YA I'm tanking you till the next downtime'' Super ship
Btw I usually in normal pvp just fly my t2 (with some TS mods) version which pwns equally, get the right fitting and you'll dish out immense damage while tanking like someone that obviously knows how to tank

Absolution is a good ship when u have a gang and a tackler. For solo piracy/hunting its useless becacause of 3 med slot layout. And absolution without a cap injector is a dead absolution. So in my case I had to train for astarte.

absolution without cap injector is useless = bull****
I've never put a cap injector on it and I've tanked 2 ravens and 3 sentry guns while me and a friend of mine in a brutix killed both of the ravens and i was at 50% cap so I don't see the problem

the absolution is a king in pvp, yes its not a solo ship but if you go into pvp and the oppoents have a ab you better, jam, dampen, disrupt, or something or you are in trouble. 1 on 1 verse other command ships it is the best one imo. great tank, great damage. i wouldnt fly one without cap boosters personally, and i bet most people one on one will die before his cap runs out.

Since nobody else has said it.
Absolution worth training for? Absolutely!
Command ships in general are spanky.
It doesn't do the same DPS as the other command ships (barring Caldari), but it does take 25% less damage and has a very nice resistance profile.
It may not be ideally suited to solo ganking, but for gangs it's got loads of lows, which means damage and tank.
Damnation is a very nice ship too, but the DPS on it doesn't even come anywhere near close to the Absolution. It does however have a supreme tank on it, and a very high SP character that specialises in gang modules can give massive bonuses to fleets using it. As people get the fleet skills up I think we'll start to see more fleeet command ships around. Already we're starting to see more and more field command ships.

let's not forget that the sleipnir is just a vagabond with 1,5x dmg modifier and a rediculous tank, in other words sickening, and gallente always has higher dps on their blaster ships i dont mind that (tho they have basically the same range on their blasters as we have on our pulse since the absolution can't hit past 10km with conflagration but that's a different story) but don't nerf the sleipnir i fly thatone aswell =P
