Pod and Planet EVE Fiction Content YC117 The prize pool is 52 bil ISK in ships packs and ISK, plus a Moros dread. And we still have some more stuff coming. Plenty of incentive for new writers, experienced writers, any writers to put hands to keyboards...!
The contest is the same as in previous years-- an EVE canon-based category, a freeform/ingame stories category, and a humor category.
Sponsoring the contest: anonymous contributor(s) - 25 bil ISK value in cash; Packs of Creatures Ships Packs (see the website); Manufactured Moros EVE-Bet (returning sponsor) -15 bil ISK Trillionaire -10 bil ISK Clueless Space Nerds podcast - 1 bil ISK DomanarK - 1 bil ISK CSM member Steve Ronuken - Full-fit Mastodon labtechwar - Banner art
Thank you generous sponsors and fine patrons of the arts! Plenty of rewards and incentives for writers.
And, judging the contest: CCP Falcon CSM member Chance Ravinne CSM member corbexx CSM member Jayne Fillon CSM member Thoric Frosthammer myself
Deadline for submissions is November 18, 2015. Go to the link for contest rules and information, and start writing, all. Let's see some great stuff like we had the past three years, ye writers. o7 |

Hello,
I would like to submit my Written history of my time in the Amarr Faction Warfare, Three years of Amarr FW history complete with battle reports and videos.
This was the precursor to the infamous Burn Houla Event and the eventual Concquest of the Amarr fw zone by the Imperial aligned pilots.
Please note this story won me the P.I.E. 116 Loyal Servant of the Year Award.
It is the second part of my history in EVE with the first being my time in Caldari FW and the birth of the now infamous Wolfsbrigade,
EVE Story time at it's finest.
Enjoy.

Updates: -Sadistic Empire and Spectre Fleet have donated 2 bil ISK. Thank you, latest godfathers of the arts!
-Currently we have 17 stories entered, and 25 prizes to give out. Therefore, either: a) Every story is going to win a prize. Maybe two! b) Some stories are cloaked up, and won't uncloak and enter until right before the deadline. or c) In the tradition of all true writers, you guys have been procrastinating and are going head to head against a deadline. Worth it to make a last push to get another good entry in by November 19? It seems like it to me. But who knows what EVE player/writers might be up to.... |

In case anyone else is interested, I wrote a short story for the Eight Thousand Suns in New Eden category titled "Vitoc, Liberation and Revenge"
It's about a Minmatar slave and the daily occurrences he has, and what life is like after getting released.

Alright, buzzer has sounded, writing period is done! Twelver or so new entries in the last day. Of those, five entered in the last hour of the contest. And among those, entered at 23:59! Outstanding!
Next step: If your story hasn't been posted as an entry on the contest site, it will be soon. Please check back and make sure your entry appears on the site, in the correct category. If your story isn't there, it's not in the contest. Help me out with the QA stuff, all writers.
After that: Judges' work begins. Updates on the progress of judging and other things will be posted on the site. Possible on a new page, with a message board or something.
Then: Winning stories announcement. Realistically, we shouldn't expect judging to be done for 3-4 weeks. Judges have to read every story, in their extra time when they don't have either RL or EVE commitments. And most of the stories just flew in and became available for reading in the past few days.
Congrats to all who crafted up a completed work! Looking forward to reading. |

Big thanks to Telegram Sam - I look forward to this contest every year.
Also huge thanks to the judges and the sponsors for your hard work and generosity.
I'm honored that both of my stories placed this year. Congratulations to all the winners, particularly Voodoo and Sugar against some of the stiffest competition I've seen so far.

A big thank you to Telegram Sam, the judges and the sponsors. This was my first entry into the contest and I literally submitted minutes before the deadline. I'm super happy with 3rd place, but will of course work to crush my enemies, see them driven before me and hear the lamentation of their women next year. I fully expect to continue this year's story :)

Woot!!! Both of my stories won an Honorable Mention!
When I am at my next job interview and they ask how good is my english writing skills, I will just casually drop that I won in a fiction contest
Thanks to the Judges work, and big thanks to Telegram Sam and the sponsors too.
I should have bet on the winners. My guess on the Grand Prize was correct, and all the 8000 Suns category winners too (although mixed some of the second and third prize winners). Was also good at guessing the Swear and Curse category winners but not the order, but not so much with the Day in the Life ones
My overall experience with the Pod and Planet Contest is the same like with EVE Online. I wish i knew about it sooner |

Thank you to all the participants, there is a lot I haven't read yet but have but have enjoyed those that I have so I can't say I envy the judges who had to make the tough decision on calling winners.
Special thanks to our event starter, Telegram Sam. Event starters like him are those who help keep this community alive and of course our fellow supporters who believe in such things and keep supporting events.
