larger native resist which means better de facto cap efficency for armor reps.
Seriously, if fitting is that tight, fit a small armor rep, that is about the rate at which an active tank regens.

Originally by: PartyVaN How would you explain armor regenerating itself on its own?
I would explain it like this:
"The plating acts to automatically seal holes in the armour with nanobots, an effect which can be boosted by using magnetic field generators to strengthen the nanobot plating integrity."
As that is what basically what it says in the item descriptions at any rate. Regenerative Platings Energised Regenerative Membranes

tbh I see your point, but the resists aren't that much better with armour, shield resists could be increased/armour decreased to balance? But it just seemed like a bit of a gap with modules to me.
I doubt anything's gonna come of it, but it'd fit logic |

With the armor compensation skills and EANM II armour tanking is already quite better for real tanking then shield tanking. Only use for shield tanking on PVP is when you want to gank.
And PVP wise the passive regeneration is negligible If brute force doesn't solve your problem.. then you are not using enough!! |

it's already mentioned - the point is with EANM you have passive = NOS-proof omni resists, which also greatly profit from armor compensation skills. There's no such thing for shield tankers because there are no omni resist amps. On the other hand we get omni hardeners while you don't, but these aren't affected by shield compensation skills unless inactive, and not NOS proof either
so, yes, regenerative plates could be better, but I don't think that shield tanking is what you should compare them to ;)
