I've noticed a few prompts which can be turned off in the game, but one that I know cannot is the prompt to confirm you want to repackage something.
Now as far as prompts go, I'm pretty sure this one is not very important... Well relative to other prompts in the game, Jettisonning, Going into 0.4 space, Trashing stuff... Yea those things that can lose you items and large values of cash.
However I don't see what can be lost when you repackage something, I mean the modules on a ship are taken off, and placed in your "Items" bay and nothing is lost (IIRC).
Few of you may ask why I seek this answer, but having to repackage 50% of the modules in my bay every few days can be very tedious if you have to repackage confirm, repackage confirm hundreds of times.
So is there a way to turn off this prompt? If not.. why isn't there when the other, more important ones can be?
If there is no loss of items or any such thing, maybe we can ask for a mass repackage to be included in the next patch. If there is no loss why not just be able to do the whole shabang at once eh?
Thanks.

For modules I have no idea why the prompt is there at all. I agree with you there. But when it comes to repackaging a ship you loose the insurance and any rigs on it. Other than that, your guess is as good as anyone elses.

Well I just spent 32mil insuring my raven, and were I to repackage it all that money would go down the drain...
That's why they have the prompt.

You used to be able to mass repackage items from the repairshop, which shows only unpacked items, but this useful feature seems to have been removed

Repackage on ships.. makes sure there is no armor damage. Who would want to buy a ship with the armor and hull at 1%.. that's just a pain in the butt. In fact if they had a higher mechanic skill than you and got the hull down to 1%.. the first time you undock, your ship would instapop ;P So repack on ships makes sure they are clean, and smaller so you can move them easier.
Repacking mods doesn't seem to do anything. Can a random mod get damaged any possible way? I don't know of any unless like merxicite did mod damage ;p

What i ment is you pick them from ur hangar by holding "ctrl" and then repackage them. It worked yesterday. And if ship has any damage it cant be repackaged.

Yes, you can repackage a whole group of items by selecting them all in your hangar and then right clicking on any of them.
I too found that prompt a real pain in the butt, until I "discovered" this ability.

It used to be (no longer sure if this is still true) that repackaging a ship would reduce its size in cubic meters. The idea being that repackaging a ship is taking it apart and putting it all in a box. Thats why you must "assemble" a new ship.

On the topic of prompts; I accidentally disabled the prompt for looting a ship - the one that helps stop accidentally looting another player. How can I get it back? I've looked around, but can't seem to find it - and it is most annoying looting, thinking it's yours and then find an aggression timer on your head with some big ships closing in...

Reasons to package stuff; - to make them use less cargo room - to try and get some sanity in your items hangar as you can stack packaged modules - to sell a stack of modules
Reasons NOT to package stuff - you lose insurance and rigs on your ships
I'd say that the posibility of losing 30 mil insurance and a few 100 mil in rigs is a good reason to have the repackage confirm. Just select all mods, rightclick and it'll give you a repackage option if applicable.
What I HATE is the fact that 1 or a few modules will be damaged and oyu'll have to manually find which one it is... :/

No idea why you even have to repackage items at all. They should just not change from being used.

I repackage modules in my hangars so that I can re-stack them...
for people like me who have 400+ items in one hangar, repackaging keeps things a lot tidier.
But it is easy:
Right click hangar|select all|right click item|repackage. -=^=-

Sorry to hijack this thread and all, but I thought it'd be better talking on a related topic... so does anyone know? I don't think it's in the main 'Esc' menu....

Maybe just a prompt on ships then. I'm sure they know how to code such a feature and it would make everything a lot easier.
Or what about taking packaged/unpackaged modules and simply making them single state.. Like they stack without being unpackaged.
