I think most of us are not happy with the ECM as it is today. Especially after the last major nerf sensor dampeners are much better and ECM ships are kinda useless.
So I was thinking about the following ECM change/fix:
ECM modules reduce the chance a weapon will fire.
For each type of weapons an ECM module (so 4 racials like it is now) and 1 Multi-weapon ECM (less powerfull ofcourse)
During the time the ECM is on a ship there is a percentage the weapons of that category will not fire.
Permanent total jams will not be possible because of a stacking penalty, for example 1 module gives 50% chance, 2 give 33% (like Tracking Disruptors and Sensor Dampeners)
Downside for ECM pilots will be that things like NOS and other ECM can't be jammed (maybe with Multispec ECM or something)
Let me know what you think of it

I have a much simpler solution:
Increase the ECM bonuses on the ECM ships at least by 100%, making them what they are supposed to be: effective ECM ships.
Their only offensive power is EW. So what's wrong with near perma-jamming 4-5 BS, i.e.? But yeah, ECM ships are useless atm. |

I totally agree with you but I don't think that will happen again.

ECM only needs 1 fix
Bring it back to RMR levels and just make it break locks - Get rid of the 20 second jam cycle.
This just in - Centus ECM Bust still as powerful as RMR!

Simple: perma-jamming 4-5 BS, with 1 ship. Very bad.

This is hands down what needs to happen! this way ecm and the ecm ships still have a role.
