Best estimate I can make of total gamewide assets is 15 quadrillion (including inactive accounts).
I'd be guessing there's about 500 accounts with NAV exceeding 1T, and a comparatively large number (maybe 5000-10000) accounts with 0.25T-1T.

It's a bit hard to say which of these accounts are individuals and which are corporations.
I have a feeling that there are considerably more trillionaire corps than individuals |

There is a huge difference between a trillion liquid and a trillion in assets.
AFAICT there's less than 1 quadrillion liquid ISK in game - only about 5% of player wealth is in liquid ISK.

Question is what do you do with all those trillions? If they just sit in the hangar/wallet you are not rich, you are a dusty warehouse. |

If I hit the 2-3 trillion mark (which is a very, very long way off), I have a plan to obliterate a trade hub.
Why? Because F*** Hek, that's why.

Keep a portion of your ISK generating assets so that you can keep plexing your account.
Spend the rest on welping expensive ships, in order to create the worst possible Killboard record in history. For example, solo low-sec in a Supercarrier, etc.
When you're done, donate all the rest to Plex for Good. Then everything that you've put into the game would be used to help humanity =P |

That is a hell of a lot to be holding liquid.
Do you consider liquid to be wallet balances that you have sole control over, plus PLEX and nothing else? Or do you have a different measure of liquidity?

I've never been a part of the "AT Ship" crowd, so I don't invest in it.
I've always felt that the price is manipulated by a Cartel who control the supply, kind of like how De Beers control diamonds. If they don't control the supply, then the price would only be a fraction of what it is today.
After all, if you have "10 Trillion ISK" worth of AT ships, is it actually worth 10 Trillion ISK if you need to sell them? Perhaps other wealthier members of the Cartel would buy them from you, just so the prices don't tank.
But if you try to sell those 10 Trillion ISK worth of AT ships to the public, it would take Multiple years to sell (since it takes time for players in the general population to grow their wealth).
De Beers have infinite amount of time into the future to sell their diamond supply.
But does Eve Online have enough time left for someone to sell 10 Trillion worth of AT ships to the public? |

Clearly not a trader. Pretty common for a non-trader to have a large portion of their wealth in isk. As for myself I rarely have more than 10% of my wealth in isk and I frequently struggle to keep 5% on hand. Just too many things to invest in. My wallet generally fluctuates between 8-18 bil daily. |

Yes. Very easily if you're happy to sell a few billion below market value, the ISK is out there.

It all depends what you trade and how much time you want to spend in investing that ISK.

I think the largest holders of the Alliance Tournament Ships would never be able to liquidate their holdings at the current "market price" created by the cartel. It would have to be at a significant discount.
So to realize the full benefit, its possible that some of them might turn to RMT (i.e. selling the AT ships for real money).
Perhaps this is why CCP is releasing the limited edition ships again, from time to time. When they feel like things might get crazy. |

Perhaps this is why CCP is releasing the limited edition ships again, from time to time. When they feel like things might get crazy. For example, if Eve Online makes headlines on MMORPG.com, and other various gaming websites, that describes how some player spent $10,000 on RMT for in-game items, and then gets banned by CCP. I'm not sure if this would be considered positive publicity, or negative publicity.
Why would opinion on someone getting banned for RMTing in Eve be any different that doing the same in another game and getting banned? If anything people would probably think the RMTer is brain dead since Eve actually offers a completely accepted way to buy isk. |
