I noticed yesterday that the Arazu sells for almost double the price of the Lachesis. This is despite the fact that the Lachesis seems the stronger ship of the 2. Is the huge difference in price between these 2 ships entirely due to the fact the Arazu can use Cynofield?

EVERY ship can use a cyno, it just has that bonus in fuel consumption.
But i guess most ppl go for arazu, as you can warp cloaked.. But i love the lacheis, as you can survive alittle dmg in it.
Price maybe that the lacheis is cheaper to build? more and better BPOs? more builders? who knows.

Thanks for the quick response.
Had not noticed that the Lachesis can not use a covert ops cloak.
This probably explains the gap in price.

lachesis price aint to bad , sometimes i see them as low as 35mil , but no way am i paying 80mil for an arazu and then another 80mil for a cloak when its paper thin + its cyno bonus sucks even if u have a cap ship.
may aswell use a cyno alt and loghim off without waiting and if his frig gets blown up so what?

What about its fits?
Arazu has 4 high slots 6 mids 4 lows Lachesis has 5 high 7 mids 3 lows
Lachesis will obviously have more fire power with an extra high slots, and 1 more ecm slot that allows for 1 more damp a web or a disruptor.
Not certain what people fit in the lows lachesis has more resistances, but 1 less low slot to armor tank. Not sure how that will work out in the end.

Who needs armor when you can dampen the enemy to the point where they can't even see their own ship?

The two ships have completely different uses (granted, they're both scramble/damp pwnmobiles) - Lachesis is better for roaming within a gang, Arazu is better for "surprise" scrambling a target with backup close at hand.

It comes down to the fact Lachesis is the Combat Recon and thus needs to put out a bit more firepower and be a little tougher. The Arazu on the other hand can use the Cov Ops cloak and therefore has much greater survivability. You don't need firepower or defenses if you choose not to engage. The Lachesis is going to die more often because you can see it.
I still prefer Combat Recons to Force Recons. --- Hey hey let's go kenka suru! Taisetsuna mono protect my balls! Boku ga warui so lets fighting! LET'S FIGHTING LOVE!!! |

I'm a "stealther" through and through and thus I am confined to Force Recons. I'm currently training for Recon Ships but have trouble deciding between an Arazu and a Pilgrim. I love the Arazu's specs but I absolutely want to vomit every time I see one. They are probably some of the ugliest ships in the game - and that's a tough field, as most ships in Eve are ugly. I love the way the Pilgrim looks but I'm not familair with drone warfare or cap warfare. Scram, damp, and open fire is more of my style so I will probably pick the Arazu. But it will stay cloaked at all times because I don't want to look at it.

This thread is old, guys. The 80m cov ops cloak could have been a hint o.O
