If you have a good optimization program (I used the one that comes with PS) then you can get almost any signature under the limit effortlessly =)

Depends, I often find that the signatures I use the most time and work on ends up being the ones taking the most KB.
= Eve related sigs are done in a hurry, because it's simply not worth it to put in an effort, because the details you used hours on creating kinda disappear when you attempt to get it under the damn 24kb. Multicolored sig = no thanks

ive done multicoloured sigs that end up nice even if they are compressed to under 24k. e.g. the one i have now may not be multicoloured, but its at 17k now and i noticed no difference than when it was at 42k (before compression). photoshop CS2 4tw!

i think the 24kb should be raised personally, i mean 24kb allows for a low pixel design thus too limited to the quality, we are all proud eve players here and we want to present that i suppose. we should petition eve because its our way of presenting ourselves here in a dominant and proud manor. limiting designs for bandwidth is redunkulous. hell with my host alone i could host this forum with ease... no bandwidth issues...

With 24kb you will never get good transparency.

...you also aren't allowed to have more than one image in your sig- you have two. Both of which break the individual rules for forum signature images.

24kb isnt THAT bad, but an increase would be nice. I have to do most of my sigs in under 50% quality. Its not that much of a difference in final product but sometime you can see it quite much.
To the OP: You should really read all the rules first, then advertise yourself. Like this you will jsut get your sigs removed by mods and your customers wont be exactly most happy either.

All of mine are under 24k and have no problems with pixellation. Agreed though, transparency is a pain.
An yes OP, list yourself in the Stickied thread in OOP forum :) .

guys im returning to this thread for a reason, honestly ive never been limited as an artist, though photoshoping isnt my main medium. I have ps cs and cs2, but everytime i complete a sig i never get it below the 24kb. i find it almost im possible. can someone help me to understand this ridiculious limitation of abilites?
ccp - i love you seriously...
but please someone - help me figure out how to save as - without destroying the image
Evemail me for a sig... |
