Hello,
another week in War, but who can argue these people declaring War is cheaper than a real bubble gum.
Don-¦t know if anyone of the devs, served for his country. Maybe not only few Millions to declare War really in high sec?!
This is no mimi thread more a logical thinking. If I-¦m go no to switzerland and take there 500 Gé¼ on the table and say, damn each ppl who leave this line will be shot. That were a nice but a scary event.
Sorry Eve Devs seems not really realistic like your Warefare cost but maybe u aren-¦t so well in math at school.
Playing in high sec, is not worth anything. I-¦m understand each guy who wanna leave, especially the new guys in eve.
Thanks for your advantage! |

Is a common topic, but that doesn't change I agree with you.
The war declaration itself is outdated in both name and execution. It is more of a "Capsuleer competition waiver" and should be based on system/constellation/region selection. Making localized declaration opens it up to be more used as intended as a means for competition between corporations. Small and localized would be cheap. A full global declaration extremely expensive.
If the receiver of the war accepts, that flags it as global for no cost if we want to keep it hardcore mode.

Given that a cheap wardec is 50 million isk, you are claiming that 1 euro equals 100,000 isk? Sweet, I have enough change in my pocket to buy 3 unfit rifters. I wonder what my three-bed house is worth in intergalactic spaceships? Never knew NASA had life so cheap!

Average housing cost where I live would translate to 10,000 plex*1,000,000,000 isk/plex so a house is worth over what is that... Ten trillion isk?

It's even cheaper to dodge the war. War decs are cheap as a balance to the ease of avoiding them.
If you get a war dec, your two best options are:
1) Fight the war 2) Drop corp
Choose the one that results in the game play style you most enjoy.

uh...I'll handle this...a war dec fee is not the cost of the war. The cost of the war is what's paid in buying ships and ammo to fight with, and the replacement costs - not to mention damage to ego either by inflation OR deflation.
IRL (if you really want to go this way) all you have to do is call CNN and say, "I'm declaring war on _________" They'll do the rest. If you call from a friend's phone, you won't even have to pay for the call.
Paranoia strikes deep....

Find a spot somewhere that you can call your cabin. Set a jump clone there, leave some PVE ships and some other things. When that wardec shows up simply jump clone there.
If you don't paint a gigantic target on your back on the forums or in local chat they probably only really care about finding the clueless that are on autopilot or carrying on like there's not a wardec at all. Don't give them a reason to run locates on you.

That is kinda the problem, where is
3) Retreat
Dropping corp shouldn't be the only surrender option. Falling back just to low or nullsec is the same as not playing of one doesn't have the SP or player skills. The discussion of eve is _____ doesnt apply because I would rather have players enjoying the game sitting in highsec and paying subs than no players at all.
Hence, if somebody really really wants to drive a corp completely out of high security, well then it will take a considerably higher investment. System based declarations would not really have negative effect on anybody except for the grief style wardecs. We can color it how we want, but war dec vs noobs and indies on a global scale really does nothing. There are much more effective potentials for low/null pvp incentive.

Highsec carebear spotted. RL murder is a nice event but a wardec in Eve is terrible. Typical highsec carebear logic.
