I'm running missions for Roden Shipyards to get standing for a Research Agent.
Unfortunately, that corp doesn't have an all kill mission division, and the only lvl 3 agent I can use right now is in fracking manufacturing...
Anyways, I do my 15 mind numbing courier missions, then get an important mission, only thing is it's for Federal Intelligence Office. So I'm not getting the large standing boost for important missions from the corp I am running missions for to get standing in the first damn place!
I did another 15 missions, same storyline agent
How do I find out where Roden Shipyard storyline agents reside? Will a change in location near one of them help switch the important missions I get to the corp I want standing with?

Edited by: Trade Lady on 10/01/2007 11:59:20 Afaik you never get Storylines from the same corp you do missions for. The good thing about the storylines is that they give you a boost to your faction standing (not only corp standing) so it's worth doing them anyway. To grind corp standing you can simply go on doing curier missions (as long as you manage to stay awake )
The only way to get a SL for Roden Shipyard would be by chance if you do missions for a different corp (of the same faction). I.E. i do 16 missions for Caldari Navy and then get a SL for Zainou Biotech etc... |

I just increased my standing with Creo-Dron last week from nothing to 6.61, every storyline mission I got was from a Creo-Dron storyline agent... Same thing with Core Complextion, got to a 7.94 standing very quickly due to storyline missions from corp...
Roden Shipyards will take me forever if I can't get storyline missions from them...

Use an agent search site like http://www.eve-agents.com/. Find the corp you need, and find level 1 quality 0 agents. Those are storyline agents for the most part. To find out if they really are, either compare the ingame agent list (which does not list storyline ones at all I think) or visit the stations in question.
The only way to be guaranteed to get a mission from one though is to run the mission that triggers the storyline out of the same *station* that the storyline agent is in. Same system is NOT good enough, they might still send you to a different corp storyline agent 3 jumps away instead of the same corp one next door. The whole system is a bit stupid. --------- ZOMG my sig was concordokkened! Link removed due to bad language on remote site. -wystler

That must be inconsistent too because I've run an awful lot of missions for the same TranStellar seurity agent and only ever had important storyline missions from an event agent in TranStellar that's in the same system but a different station.

Of course it is inconsistent, thats why I said 'might' not 'will'. The main consistent thing about CCP is their insistance on incinsistency --------- ZOMG my sig was concordokkened! Link removed due to bad language on remote site. -wystler

http://www.eveinfo.com/agents/ lists them as Generic Storyline in their title instead of Basic

I believe you get storylines from the same corp if and only if your standing with that corp is lower than your standing with their faction. The idea being that you quickly boost your corp standing to equal the faction standing, but once there, you gain standing with the faction as a whole and other corps in the faction.

That's not the case for me...
I have a 7.94 with Core Complextion, and my Minmatar faction standing is 3.34. I get Core Complextion storyline missions exclusively when working for a Core Complextion agent...
Some corps the storylibe missions flip flop between the corp I'm working for, and some other random corp. So I get corp storyline missions every 30 missions instead of 15.
Roden Shipyards however, I do not get storylines at all... They always come from Federal Intelligence Office...

Depending on how much missions you run per week you could try to leave your agent busy with a storyline mission (as in not taking it for 6 days) and see what happens then. You wont get 2 important storyline missions at the same time from one agent so chances are you get them from the 'remaining' one. Its 16 btw not 15. ;) -------------------------------------- Agent & Mission-Info: http://www.eveinfo.com Evewide Market-Info: http://eve-central.com/ |

I have done the same thing for Creodron. Lately I have found a system in Amarr space with a lot of CREODRON station and 1 storyline agent for them. As the other station in zone are from different factions, I get the storylines I want from CREODRON.
The only drawback is that CRO hasn't medical facilities in all EVE, so no Jumpclones from them

Lemme guess, Ghesis right? I just finished up my Creo-Dron tour of duty there... Yes, once I moved to the lvl 3 agent there, all my storyline missions were from Creo...
My problem with Roden Shipyards is, curently I can only use 1 of the lvl 3 agents... I need to grind from 0 to 4.6 using a lvl 3 manufacturing agent with no storyline missions to boost my standing... It's driving me insane tbh...

Right on target.
I have one of my level 4 R&D agents there, so plenty of storyline missions (every mission for R&D count for the 16 required, and those tritanum rusn add rapidily to the other missions).

ran missions in a station with no storyline agent, got to do storylines for a different corp in a different station.
swtiched agents to one that had a storyline in the same station, got the storyline from that agent, same corp.

A little necro, but im curious.
According to the links furthur up the page Lai Dai have no storyline agents while Core Complexions have 12?
I feel like im going to be grinding this lvl 2 Lai Dai agent for the rest of my life.
Getting standing with most other corp seems a doddle when you know where the storyline agents are.

its possible to get a different storyline agent if u do not do the stiry mission and run another 15 missions until a new storyline is available, this will be offered by a different agent as the same storyline agent cant offers to missions at the same time.

They count as a normal mission for storyline? That is good to know. I thought they were not counted.

Edited by: Venkul Mul on 09/02/2007 17:08:21 Try the Cosmos missions. Roden has some storyline agent there. They can be used only 1 time (folloving the multiple episode storyline), but they give a good boost. They should be in some of the Gallente Cosmos systems.
Bergman, my alt has got the first level 3 storyline (a 10 episode long one) doing only missions for his R&D agent. All missions he has done have been for the same corporation, and as soon has I have found a station with a R&D agent and a storyline one I have made it my base.
At the end of this string of storylines I will be capable of using the 4 +0 R&D agent that is my end goal.

ok a couple of things I have noticed re storyline agents.
The storyline agent is generally the nearest agent of the same faction. Note just because a station is in Gallente space, doesnt mean it is a Gallente Corporation :). eg there's some Expert Distribution stations in Pucherie, and the storyline agent there is Expert Distribution. Thus if you're working with the Federation Navy, you get sent to Mirilene 2 jumps away, rather than the Caldari Expert Distribution storyline agent.
The eve explorer at http://grismar.net/eve/explorer/index.php?navigate_agent_nav=next is a good way of finding the storyline agents.
For example to find the storyline agents near Pucherie. First put in show agents, then change to in system containing and then hit run query. This will list all the agents in the database. Next in the result area, next to where it says jumps, put in the name of the system (replacing the default Tanoo), in this case Pucherie. Now click the Jump button. This will change the last column to show the numbers of jumps from Pucherie. Next single click on the small icon that looks like the in game starmap Icon at the top of the last column of the results. This will sort the results by jumps. As you can see, there is a storyline agent in Pucherie for Expert Distribution, but the nearest Gallente Storyline agent is the Federation Navy one in Miriline
