Hi all,
I have an issue with the beta launcher where, once I launch a client, the launcher window turns completely blue:-
Beta Launcher Display Issue
I then have to restart the launcher in order to be able to use the launcher again.

I couldn't reproduce it a second time after the one time I got this blue launcher
I did have a freeze or 2 when closing and relaunching too quickly but I don't know what happened |

Mine has been ok but i have noticed the Launcher is using over time a butt load of memory at one point it maxed out my machine ( running 4gb ram )
the process causing this is QtWebEngineProcess.exe QtWebEngineProcess (32 bit)
now when i go into task manager and quit that process all goes back to normal but then the launcher is buggered and stays blue, or wont respond only been since the updade today!!! |

you need to kill the evelauncher.exe process too
QTWebengine is part of the devtool used for the beta launcher, and when there are issues with the remote server (the thing you see in the launcher is a web page in fact) it apparently goes to hell and doesn't comes back
in your task manager, detail/process tabs, right clic on evelauncher.exe and kill the process tree
relaunch and don't spam play before it has finished fully initialized / check whatever it does

The launcher does the same thing to me as well (Version 988259 GUI 1.73). Looks like the QTWebEngineprocess.exe is leaking memory like a cracked dam. The memory usage keeps increasing, especially after a client is launched. The usuage increase does not abate when all clients are closed and, like the OP, you have to close the launcher in order to re-launch.

Yeah, same thing is happening on my box as well. It sucks, because once the launcher is killed its child process detach and aren't tracked by a relaunched launcher process.
Here's a screenshot of QtWebEngineProcess.exe chewing up both RAM and CPU as it marches towards the inevitable cliff

Same issue here. After the launcher has been running for around 5mins I notice a few things:
1) QTWebEngineprocess.exe creeps up gradually from 160mb memory, with random cpu spikes 2) Server status keeps flickering from Online to Unknown and back very quickly (most noticeable if you expand the list) 3) Once QTWebEngineprocess.exe goes past 1gb memory usage it's cpu use is constant and the launcher UI can no longer launch new clients. 4) Eventually that process crashes leaving the launcher with a useless blank screen, and it has to be restarted. |
