Hi there felllow gamers.
Always wanted to start playing this game but as usual real life always got in the way,so now i finally installed the game and decided to give the 14 day trial a try.
Most important question i have, read somewhere that its possible to pay for the monthly sub with ingame currency, isk i believe its called,is this still possible?
Asking,well...because life as usual doesnt deal the cards you want or need so i had to quit my job to take care of my pops who is sick at the moment. So he is at home, and im basically living with the interests i get from the money in the bank and some english classes i give once in a while (im Spanish and living in Spain at the moment) so paying for a sub (for now) is not something i can do.
If its still possible to pay with isk for the monthly sub (Even if there is a lot of farming & grinding) is there anyone that could provide me a link to a guide for me to do this? Think it would be possible to farm/grind enough with my Trial time to afford one months sub?
Also would be interested in joinin a corporation so maybe i could get some help and some fellow players could teach me the ropes.
Now dont get me wrong, not asking for handouts in any way, every mmo ive played ive earned my way thru and everything i got i got it by myself, just maybe someone or some corporation would be interested in taking me under their wing to teach me the ropes.
Im very social, friendly and loyal so with me you wont get no drama or anything like that....just maybe some bad spanish/canadian jokes hehe (lived in Canada for a long time)
Well thanks in advance and im about to login for the first time and give this a try,you all have a nice day. |

Greets, Charles Ferrero!
It's unlikely that in a few weeks you can get enough going to generate the ISK required to buy a PLEX, the required monthly pilot license extension.
I'd play the game and complete all the tutorials offered - see what you like - join a corp that does that. If your tastes change, and your corp doesn't offer what you currently like, well... you can always join another.

Grinding for PLEX is very difficult in the beginning because of lacking skills and knowledge ... my recommendations to get started. Scrap your current account and start over with a decent "buddy invite" offer, this will give you 21 days for free and usually a good portion of the PLEX reward's worth from the issuer if you subscribe. Then take one of the discounted subscription packs of CCP and buy for a couple of month with cash, just what you can afford now. This should beside the discounted price add another 20 free days to your account. With that you should have enough time and starting ISK to get into the game and eventually ISK making. Joining one of the big newbie corps will help further lowering the entry barrier. After a couple of months in the game you should be able to PLEX one account within a weekend playtime, but not at the beginning.
Nevertheless be warned, with grinding for PLEX you are on shaking ground as PLEX prices tend upwards and trippled during the last 2 years ... paying with real cash is always more efficient in hours spent (in western europe).

I would suggest restarting and joining a buddy program, you then get a 30 day trial and extras, money, ships, help from them. The money gained from a buddy program would go some way to affording a plex, i doubt you could get the isk in a few weeks to afford one without help.
Here is a link to the buddy program thread:

You may need to find some one who accepts plex upgrades to receive all that they offer though. |

Thanks for the replies,much apreciated.
Wish my i were in a better place in real life so i could sub to the game but you know this is the way it goes, sometimes you down sometimes you uo.
Tried those links you guys gave me but it seems i would need to create a new account,or is it possible to use the one im currently using? Not that that would be much of a problem, still havent advance much,im on the tutorial doing some farming so i i can complete a part of my tutorial about fitting slots, still need to fill in my low level one,but i gotta say even thou it seems complicated and overwhelming im kinda getting into it hehe
Cheers :) |

Unfortunately not, buddy invite only works with fresh accounts. But 14 days is not that much, you may also continue, make all the newbie mistakes now and then start over with a fresh account and the knowledge gained about mechanics and skill training.

That does seem like a good option, use these 14 days to learn all i can (specially ways to make money) then make a fresh account and hopefully ill be wise enough to get those ISK i need.

is salvage worth anyhting these days?
if so, it might be a nice top up to ur income to check the map for systems with lots of ships destruyed in the last hour and go salvage the wrecks.
use something fast with a probe launcher and decent cargobay.
do not loot unless u want a suspect timer (meaning anybody can shoot at you without concord interference)
(probably safe to loot if there are only wrekcs on field tho, that being said watch ur overview for ships landing on grid)
youll want an overview setting that only shows wrekcs and ships. with a separate overview for stations and gates (siomething like that but customize as u see fit) |

check out this blog, the author is trying to get a plex in their first month: http://plexquest.com/
I think if you can get a buddy invite for a 21day account and then splurge on one of the content packs that gives +20 days that should give you enough time to learn and make a plex. Might be a bit grindy, but it is what it is. once you get a bit more experience and knowledge you can probably get some other stuff in too.

IMHO if your goal is to make enough isk to pay for game time with isk then the game will become a job. At that point I think that you are better off spending your time in front of the computer learning how to do some type of programming so that you can at least make real life money while you are working at your computer.
That being said if you do some homework you can find various ways to grind isk night after night. Some of the things that I have heard mentioned are things like farming faction warfare complexs. The videos I've seen on this typically involve running at the first sign of combat.
I've also heard of some guides out there that claim that a month old character can make decent isk running high sec missions in a very specific manner.
Incursions could make you that isk but you won't be able to get into any fleets for at least a couple months.
Null / low sec exploration could make you the isk if you are good at it.
If you could find a place in blue null sec where you can belt rat in relative peace you could make that isk on a couple week old character. But you would have to grind asteroid belts night after night. Every so often you'd get a faction spawn and make a quick bonus payday but you'd have to grind spawn after spawn to make it happen.
If all of the above sound more like a job then a game then maybe your are kind of getting my point. |
