Hello;
I am new to this area of the forum and would like some guidance on how to determine if a investment is legit of if it is a scam.
Thanks. |

What a coincidence. I'm just starting a wealth management consultation service. For 1 billion ISK I can get you in on the ground floor. It's just my and a Nigerian prince so far, but I expect well over 80% returns for my clients pet month.
Seriously, with 2 billion, I'd get into market trading or region trading if you don't mind micro managing the logistics. |

I am CEO, recruiter and FC... I don't have time to "trade".
My question had to do more with a loaning isk to legit people that would pay me back with interest. I really didn't think this was possible in eve until I read this section of the forum. |

There are 2 type of offers. Some have collateral, like minerals or ships, as security. Those are completely safe when held by one of the acknowledged third parties, but they give you only 2% interest per month.
The unsecured type of offers (bonds) give you anything from 5% to 12% interest per month, but I wouldn't recommend those when you know nothing about the scam dangers.
You can also invest in me :D but that is currently only around 2% and unsecured. Maybe 3% in the near future but I aint promising anything.

The collateralised loan market is pretty scarce, as most parties that have stock they can commit to one are usually looking to invest themselves.
The uncollateralised one, on the other hand offers very little security.
Two billion is low enough that you should be able to invest it into something relatively low-effort low-profit yourself. |

I am here asking for advice and NOT bashing trade as a profession. I just don't enjoy trading as a profession in eve and find other activities more fun. Forgive me if I offended you. |

Even if it isn't obviously a scam, you should treat it as such. I.e. you are gambling not investing. You have 2b, how much of that do you want to gamble with and how much do you want to invest with?
In eve there is no oversight, so in spite of similar terms (bond, stock, etc) these are gambling vehicles. I did put down 1m for a stock that ended up giving me 100m in dividends, but that isn't to recommend it, it's to point out that I had 1m and thought, "What the heck."
You invest in friends you know, or your invest in buying mission equipment, or you invest in trade. Not a lot of other investments in Eve.
My choice of pronouns is based on your avatar. Even if I know what is behind the avatar.

If it seems to good to be true, it's a scam. If it seems legit, it's a scam. If in doubt, it's a scam.

Some hauling involved. Unfortunately for you, people will rarely disclose what their moneymaker is. Nobody is going to increase competition to himself. |

Give up completely on the word "ALL". Any plan you have that uses the word "all" should be rejected instantly.
Try this plan instead: Buy low, sell high.

also , 2kkk is pocket change. Any profit over a couple of months would be not worth even to bother with it.
time to find the deal, and settle the details lets say it would take 30 minutes ? Youl make more profits ratting those 30 minutes then investing .
Opportunities multiply as they are seized.

Some insights on dealing with unsecured loans were given in this thread in 2014. Give it a read!
I am running a fast-growing EVE business, and I would be happy to utilize your 2B in exchange for 5% interest per month. I would need to be able to use it for 6 months, with interest paid monthly. Reply here or message me if you're interested in those terms. For background information on me, see my last bond thread for my full history.

I mean, if you want a 3%/month return, I'd take 2b off your hands and run 3% interest indefinitely. I don't have anything in particular I want 2b for, but I could put it into basically anything and make enough to cover your interest plus enough to keep me logging in to recycle the money back into endeavours.

literally is that easy, i never understood why investors take such risk, for such low returns.
Im confident, if put in the position you described, i could make the interest payment within the first few trades, rest is cream.

If someone hates .01-isking (and I would not blame them), they may not want to trade, as low effort as it is. And so if they would have left that 2B collecting dust, why not earn a meager return instead? Assuming they don't get scammed, an investment is going to net them the greatest ISK for the least amount of keystrokes and brain calories.
