Because that would make too much sense and be far too easy for the OP, methinks. ---

you always have long skills... use them... those 20d and longer ones come down quickly if you use them as fillers
the key is planning...

Set Racial BS V.
Wake up, get ready for work/school, set 8-10hr long skill, get home, set short skills, get ready for bed, set racial BS V.
Repeat.
Poof, no lost time.

There are 3 things you can do about this situation:
1. Set the alarm clock to 3:50 am 2. Set long training skills while at sleep/work/away 3. Give a dam

Not lost is not the same as not efficient though.
Personally I hate battleships and anything bigger. BC is big for me, and I prefer the elite ones. I like HACsmost, and also Intys, assault ships. What would I want with BS 5
I think racial BS 5 is about 2mil sp? Personally I don't fly battleships at all. And others who do, will still find the last level especially, BS V, to be extremely inefficient.
Sure you don't lose time gaining skillpoints. But that's the same as being able to train at the gym all day, but half of the time you're training your ear-muscle or some other useless stuff.

Now, all you BS pilots out there, listen to the lady, she speaks the truth. BS V is a waste of your time. Hay, you, at the back, put that pencil down, no working out the DPS that a maxed out BS pilot has. Oh dear, your going to waste your time now.

CCP Marketing sucks, I demand all the lost potential sp I missed out on by not starting the game till after it had been out almost a year.
Oh and all the lost sp from rerolling my main too while yer at it...knowing my insane efficiency streak, I'd be at 60+ mil sp by now.

Well, the big advantage of BS5 is that its needed for capital ships, which I suspect is why most people end up going for it.
Still, Cruisers5 is pretty epic, iirc, so thats a neat little long-term skill. And all those lvl5 pre-reqs, such as are needed by T2 turrets, or the lvl5 navigation skills needed for T2 frigates, or.........well, you get the point -----------------------------------------------

I agree with the above post, mostly... If you don't want to bother switching to a longer skill, or alternatively if you just don't have such a longer skill, don't loose sleep over it. The lost time may seem significant, but in the end it'll be just a tiny fraction of the overall time spent training your character.

First they would need to give back sp for when they have to move you because of a bug. I have lost allot of training because of it and every time they say we don't reimburse skill training.
Don't be lazy and set your skills to come out when you can change em, use evemon. ---------------------------

They could just simple have an skill point counter that counts up and when you get enough points you can cash it in on what ever skill you want which the atributes and learning skill being a skill point multiplier instead of a rate increase.
This would end all of the grief over not getting your training time maxed and people wanting some way of being able to Q skill training.

Wins for being funny and making sense at the same time.
Seriously though: CCP mentioned they're planning a client for PDA's and tablet PC's (basically able to check up on market details, change skills, and other stuff you dont need to get out of a station to do).
I'm still waiting for that to be honest.

Rabble, Rabble, Rabble! I demand the skillpoints I earned during beta testing to be applied to my current character or I delete all my stuff (so don't ask!) and I quit!!!111
You don't have to take racial battleship up to 5 to have overnight or work/school hours duration skills training, you can do all sorts of specialization skills to boot. EVEMon is also a very big help for planning skill training.

Solution for this problem as well as another one that's been talked about quite a lot:
No one can leave their computer at any time, or ever log off the game. Not even at downtime. All violators are banned.

What's your current SP now anyways Kieron? You bumping into that magical 440mil limit yet?

Ha! I wish! I have to play (and train skills) like everyone else.
My play character is just under 20M SPs, about half of which are in missile skills. I restarted him about 18 months ago and am glad I did. Who he is? My secret.
