So I login to where I last was, scanning belts in lowsec. I find a rifter and warp in on him. He's about 60km away, I actually get to him (I'm in a thorax with 1600mm plate) and blow him up, manage to get his pod, and then a domi comes in.
Now, I figured "What the hell." because I was already warp scrambled. By the time I got into 15KM my cap was gone and I was through shield.
I got to him, put my guns on him, NoS, waiting for cap, I can't armor repair, and I go down about 10 seconds later.
What could I have done? A cap booster, perhaps? How can I prepare myself for events such as these for the next time?
<- 2 weeks old and two pod kills~

Jesus. Learn when not to engage. If you didn't have time to run away then all you can do is wait to die. However it takes an awfully long time for a battleship to lock you unless they're sensor boosted.
Of course the short answer to your question "what could I have done?" is run. Also, don't fit a cap booster on a rax -- MWD, web, scram. That's it. --

Was warp scrammed, why give up? I want to have fun. Even dying in EVE is fun.

Well, you said "By the time I got into 15KM my cap was gone". This means that you were farther than 15 km away to begin with. Your post isn't clear as to what was scrambling you, so i'll assume it was the domi. Barring faction modules he wasn't webbing you, so you could have turned and gone in the other direction fairly easily. Since you were farther than 15km from him to begin with you had >5 more km to go before you were out of scramble range. _________________________________________________________

Thanks, I'll watch out for that next time.

Its worth knowing when you are beaten, people often will engage against inordinate odds and the thought of trying to get away never even occurs.
You could easily have got out of web rangewhen something like that happens head straight at any celestial object away from your would be killer and put your propultion mods on.
As soon as you are out of scram range you can damn near insta jump beucase you are already up to speed

i think you just have to know what is courageous and what is suicidal.
a rax's main problem is cap tbh so any nos ships are kind of a big no no. there was no way you could have beaten that domi if he had several nos/neuts which he obviously did.
The only thing u could have done is run away, either come back in something bigger or with a couple friends.

EDIT: < and > signs are your friend, don't get them confused
exactly what i was going to say, did the domi have a tackler aswell or something?

You could have used your MWD to fly out of web/nos/scram range.
Let me know when you next require my tactical genius.
