Edit: spelling and such
1. There is no best.
2. Races don't really matter, Infact any race can use any other races ships provided you learn the skills. Either read the newbie faqs and chose what sounds coolest, or pick whatever race you think looks the best.
3. I wont lie to you, but untill you get a few months into the game t2 stuff will be out of question to you. The bpos are way to expencive for a few player. Other then t2 you can make anything you want.
4. Corps are great way to learn about the game. You don't have to rush into one however, most newbie corps are quiet friendly.
5. Do not rush things. Don't train for a cruiser in your first day. Stay in a frigate and zoom around do lvl 1 missions, have a go at mining. Get the feel of the game. When you are confident that you know the game a bit and want a bigger ship, open the market and look at what ship you really want to use. Talk to some people ask what ship is best at what situation and once you have a ship type you like SPECIALIZE.
Most newbies go from one ship to another all the way to battleship, end up with sub par skills and complain that they get killed too easy. I for one have been playing for 5 months, have over 7 mil sp on my main and I still don't have the battleship skill. However I own in battlecruisers. I have bc5, t2 drones and can use t2 medium weapons and missiles, and t2 shield/armor mods. Compared to my friend who rushed for a battleship I do much better in pvp and missions, and the only reason why is because I specialised.
Another thing is don't buy a ship unless you can replace it. What I mean is if you decide to buy a cruiser worth 5 mil, make sure you have 10+ mil before you do so, otherwise if you spend all the money on the ship and lose it, you'll be back to square one. Also always insure your ships. And always upgrade your clone.
Other then that, don't overdo anything, if missions start getting boring go mine, if that gets boring try a hand at pvp, if that doesent work out try exploring, or building and so on. If you move around the game you wont get bored and stop.
I guess that's it. Have fun
