When the mirror of Eve was taken to be transferred from T1 Tq to T2 Tranqulity many years ago the old server if what I am told is true (it was a little before my time) , remained online for one more day with all security levels rescinded for maximum carnage. Is there a similar event planned this time for the T2 > T3 transition?
When the new server came online it was as if it never happened.

Whoever told you that was lying, because I think I'd remember that if it ever happened. Last time they moved / overhauled the servers the you simply couldn't log in for about a day because all the hardware was disconnected, including the old TQ. They gave everyone a free day of game time to make up for it. However it has been such a long time I'm a bit hazy on the exact details. |

You can have carnage any day you want, just get your corpies together in throwaway ships and have a blast.

Sorry to burst the bubble!
That never happened. Back then every day was carnage day.

Civil discourse is uniquely human. After all, when is the last time a pride of lions and a herd of water buffalo negotiated SOV over a watering hole? Never.
Someone either gets their ass kicked or eaten. At the end of the day someone holds SOV.

Ah, the dream of the empty headed, where every system is 0.0 without warning and non-combat ships can be attacked with gay abandon. The real joke is that the ones who dream of this the most would be stamped into atoms along with every other biscuit-arse. As quoted, you can have all the carnage you want anytime, as long as you GIT GUD, HTFU oh, and get out of hisec.

There was a time when Concord took the day off. Many players decided to take advantage of that incident resulting in many destroyed Hi Sec ships.
Of course, when the dust settled, many of them got perma-bans for their deed.

Concorde didn't take the time off, they were just totally ineffective against the new tactics being employed.
People were perma banned because CCP told em to desist blowing up everyone jumping in to yulai, and they carried on doing so.

Op is kinda right, there was actually such a day. However it was not a server transition as far as I know, but was the beta testing before EVE went live and on the last day they triggered a FFA 0.0 everywhere. In such a totally different environment as you can possibly imagine, in a BETA.
So no, this would not be cool, it would waste a lot of peoples limited play time on a live server. |

Which incident are you assuming I was talking about?

Once upon a time CONCORD could be tanked. However this meant back in the day increasing server load ( there were hundreds if not thousands fo concord ships present) so bad it crashed nodes. Basicly intentionally disrupting service when told not to do it but did it anyway, hence the permabans. |

Well, you are talking about something different than what I was.
There was a specific bug that occurred just after a specific downtime that lasted for a few hours in which Concord was unresponsive to some or all GCC. I don't remember all the details, and could not find the issues thread for it, but it was before the Trinity release IIRC.
Main issues; Concord behavior suddenly changed after a downtime, many took advantage, and a lot got banned. And no sever nodes crashed. CCP took TQ offline and corrected the issue.
I think it was within six months of the LV Titan being aborted by the Goon attack on the POS building it in JV1V, but can't be sure.
