Z'APP: Your days are numbered! May everything you come in contact with whither. Your very name is anethema. (Not that one of such myopic amoebic intellect such as you fathoms this without a dictionary)
If you were dying of thirst in a stasis field-stranded pod, I wouldn't give you the sweat from my undergarmets.
Podding you once won't be the end; it will be only the beginning of an endless and relentless assault on your galactic presence.
You Have Been Warned.
Most too kind for a bag of dirt such as you AND a waste of an otherwise useful bag.

I think everybody gets emotional about the first podding. I know I did. Not much I can say that will help except that it is the first real lesson after the tutorial.
The rage will pass. The knowledge that it gave you will not.
Nevertheless, my condolences.

My first podding was to someone deep in the south after I decided to take a 'sightseeing' trip to 0.0 for the first time.

Short Version -
STFU
Long Version - If anything wow is worse for non-permissioned killings. Unlike EvE you can uncloak (uninvis) and gank the feck out of somebody without being completely nerfed to hell (lock, targetting, gimped cov ops) and then you can legally corpse camp them without them being able to hide in a station invulnerable from attack or GM's coming to help like they do in EvE. Plus theres no insta-spawning super guards in safe areas.
Insurance + the thinly veiled buying of isk for cash via GTC makes it extremely easy to take losses not that they're very frequent since its so easy to avoid getting killed you have to be a moron / afk / newbie to ever be killed.
Advice to OP -
Spam the warp to button with a celestial object targetted before you blow up, you should never lose another pod again. The Privateering Life |

Come one. If you read it, it was posted totally in character. And then the threatening ingame and calling someone 'swine' is fully acceptable imho. I think this is a good thread ! People like pirates get called 'swine' and threatened with some in-game revenge far too less. Instead many victims just whine about unfairness, which the threadstarter doesn't. Respect for that. Keep it up ! ______________

If the guy wants to be upset about his loss, let him...I think he's being quite enthusiastic and taking it quite well, all things considered.
It's coming to the point of where posting about your losses and enragements and promises of death and doom is becoming impossible, even though we have an entire forum section devoted to just that (crime and punishment).
Let people vent and let those who can profit from that anger, do just that. What you're doing is blind flaming, based on nothing intelligent or useful. - New sig in the workings -Knowledge is a priviledge, not a right - ....*steals a cookie from the ISD cookie yarr* >_> |

Cadela, there is a general attitude, especially in this section, that players of WoW are children of a lesser god. Although I've never played WoW I've been asking myself "what makes us (E-O) players superior than them ?
To the OP: swine?,... SWINE? I ROFL just reading that !

I also got mad after the first time I got podded.
But only because the attacker was a suicide trial account ganker in an armageddon, fitted with large smartbombs. Mostly because of him being on a trial account!
Well, and just a bit because I was in high-sec, on autopilot and AFK, while carrying 5x Damage Controls II, back when they were 16m the piece (and I only had about 100m ISK or so).

Yesterday was my first time podded, though this was mostly for learning:
1- I wanted to know what happens to the skill you are currently learning when podded. 2- I wanted to see what 0.0 was like, so it was my first time there. 3- I wanted to test the effectiveness of gate camps. With warp bubbles, pretty dammed effective. Pulled me out of warp and my Inquisitor was toast (hardly a loss, I even named the ship "Suicide Is Painless").
Wonder if MWDs work in warp bubbles? Guess I will have to do another test run.
Did learn another important thing, I need to join a corp if I am interested in Pirating. That being the case, I'm going to learn basic flying skills, tanking skills, tackling skills, and weapon skills first, so I can provide some use to a pirate corp and can build a name for myself (not just be nooblet cannon fodder).

Edited by: Alumion on 01/02/2007 08:35:37 First time i got podded was when I decided to see this 0.0 for myself. I flew around a bit and after realizing that all the NPCs could pop my Kestrel withlittle effort I decided to leave that's when I met that battlebadger at the gate back to empire. He challanged me so I attacked, then got ECM-ed to hell and back, then popped and podded. I was like WOW
I was slightly more angry when I lost my first pod of my new char, as I had a nice 13m bounty

The first time I got podded, I wasn't even there. [AFK travel, lesson #1]
The second time, I was site seeing just like another poster, was such a noob I was wondering why the ship in the overview had a skull and was flashing red. I went to take a closer look. [Curiousity killed the cat, lesson #2]
The third time, three pirates at a gate, no message, no warining, no demands, just bleep, bleep, bleep, BOOM!, rinse and repeat for pod. [Gate camps are quick and painful, lesson #3]
The fourth time, I accepted a challenge. Checked his age after the short incident, and he was like 2 years old. [The older they are, grassier your ass, final lesson.]
Of all four, the gate camp hurt the most as it was so sudden. But in the end, it's all a blast, really. Get mad, get angry, be upset, hell cry about it. But by god, please have fun in the process. The OP, although mad as hell, seemed to be getting into it.
I've recently moved out of the mines, as I only have a few months of serious play time left; deployed US Navy with access to my PC. So, if you see me in local, please, gimme some fun...

I take it that this was before trial accounts weren't allowed to train Cruiser skill?
