I tried to find an appropriate help channel to post this question, but couldn't find one. Aplogies in advance if this is the wrong place to post.
I played Eve for about half a year in 2014, then stopped and have now bought 12 PLEX to seriously play again. When I stopped, I had many outstanding sell orders. When I now load my orders in the market screen there are none. However, I am unable to make any new sell order. I can see I have 28/28 available sell orders, which I think means there are 28 open ones I can make, because when I load my orders, there are none. However, I can select 'sell item', fill in a price, but then pressing the final button to sell results in nothing, the pop up window with the price I can set just remains open.
I'm sure I'm just a supernoob here, but I'm really stuck. I can't ask my former Corp mates whom lived in a C4 wormhole, because I haven't seen any of them come online yet.
Any advice is much appreciated.
PS. One bonus question. I have about 8 million skill points. Is that a really rookie amount or would you say I'm beyond that point?

I don't have any ideas on how to actually fix your problem other than what has been posted already but I do have some suggestions.
8Mil SP isn't to bad. Its enough to get started on whatever it is you plan on doing. Once you sell those plex you can buy the new skill injectors and increase that SP amount as well if you feel like you are lacking in something. Lastly you could try selling the plex through contracts. I am sure someone will snatch them up if you are in a trade hub. |

You gain 1.6m SP per month, so 8 million is a few months of training, and if you start a new character you'll lose that time. Although if you absolutely hate the character, you could probably start a new main and demote this character to a scout, cyno, market, or hauling alt, depending on what skills you have already trained. |

I have tried on three different machines with both accounts, among which a brand new PC, so that doesn't seem to be the problem.

EDIT: You can use the dual training feature to sporadically add the skills you need to specialize your alt into scout, cyno, market, or w/e, without interrupting your main. Or pay a lot more for skill points, for your main or alt.
Thanks for the advice man. I guess I gain a little more than 1.6 M because of my +4 implants on both accounts. I mostly travel the world for my job all the time, but when I'm home in The Netherlands I play on two systems, with both accounts at the same time. Main is for combat, secondary for industry. I also have one alt for which I accidentally activated a plex, but I'm not really sure what to train on it. Currently I figured my main should learn ammar flying skills and the alt caldari, but I find using a different account much more comfortable than using an alt.
Anyway, my first priorities are getting able to make sell orders again and find a new Corp to join. I so much miss my old corpmates, they were super experienced and took me in as the only rookie in their Corp. And I have a RL friend who plays now, with the same amount of skill points as me, but we're both kind of playing without clear goals in sight. So we just need to find some cool people we can trust and join their Corp. In 6 months playing, despite being in a wormhole corps, I have only once left highsec and I was pod killed in a minute. So I'm just super scared to leave high sec now lol, and my old corpmates gave me a bunch of battleships, but I'm also resisting flying them cause I'm afraid to get ganked.
So if anyone is interested in having me, give me a shout out. Aside from English and Dutch I speak German and a little bit of French and Russian. My Russian lessons just started. I might be a useful diplomat in eve in the future.

Don't suppose you're leaving the order duration on "Immediate", are you?

I don't know. I placed the sell orders in 2014 and when I load my orders in the market tab it says there are none, so I can't check any details on the orders, let alone know for sure if there are active orders.

Huh?
Any orders placed in 2014 expired ages ago. The longest possible duration is 90 days. Your 2014 orders have nothing to do with this.
If you place a new order at a price that cannot be fulfilled IMMEDIATELY, and you do not change the duration to something other than IMMEDIATE, you cannot place the order.
Either sell the item at a sufficiently low price to match an existing buy order, or set a duration (and pay the broker fees) to set a standing sell order.
