From the Drawingboard
Quote: Enabling players to either queue so that training takes the next skill level or starts training another skill up another level. Dual training enables you to have a primary long-term skill in training with a secondary short-term skill sharing the training time. After the secondary skill level has trained, the primary skill trains at 100% again.
I think i would prefer the skill queue myself, more skills in queue the merrier.

I agree that the queue would be preferable. However, it should only be one or two skills in the queue, that way you still have to do some planning and log on once in awhile.

I like the queue as well, but it should be disabled if a person's account is inactive. The current skill continues to train but the next skill on the queue doesnt start until the account is active again.

I prefer queue as well, dual training is just an overcomplicated 2 skill queue anyway.

THe skill que would enable players to start an account, line up a ton of skills, and then cancel their subscription. Then they would return in 6 months to have like 10mil sp...

I'd like the ability to queue two skills.
Many are the times when I've had like 5 hours left on something before I went to bed, or the skill would be ending while I was at work, and what should have been finished 5 hours from now takes me 2 more days to finish off due to play constraints in the evenings.
I'd love it if I could just say "when X finishes, start up Y", so I can let the short runs finish without needing to finish em off in 3 hour increments at night.
As for cancelling, just have the queues not process if your account isn't active. Current train ends, and you sit there not training til you start up again.

Well, I heard that an unrestrained queue will never be allowed, since it would encourage character farming. I myself would just be happy with dual skill training. Would be nice if I could do a short skill for primary, and a long skill for secondary. That way I could have a new skill level every night. Plus it would make training those awkward length skills that you just can't quite time right.

dual skill training was implemented in the last patch with the 10 disconnects everyone seems to be getting per day, roffles. if you swap skills when one of them is at "completion imminent" and get disconnected, both will be training at the same time when you log back in (first skill starts to train to the next level, dont know what happens if it reached level V).
the real trick is, both skills will finish simultaneously, at the time that the second skill is set to end. i.e. you can get that rank 6 skill to level V in 10 minutes.
fix the disconnects, please.

dual skill is still kinda skill queuing anyways, isn't it? if you leave something like a 20 day skill running, you don't HAVE to log in for 20days, but you could pop on and click some other short skill that you've suddenyl realised you might need, and log off, and still come back in 20 days (plus a bit because of the dual training time), and you'd have trained the handy little skill, AND the big long skill.
I got my sig snipped again. Can someone make me a new one? |

I am so happy to see this change. I would prefer a queue, even just one single skill that will train after the primary is done would be excellent.

2 Skills in queue would be nice. Having skill training stop for inactive accounts should be a must have. Maybe a limit to training time for skills put in queue, max of 30 days. -------------

I personally think queing skills is the best idea as long as its like say one weeks worth of stacking...
IE: several small skills or some longer skills. that dont exceede one week -

dual skill is better...
cose in fact atm you can stop skill and take it training later.. so Queue won't be so usefull..
dual skill mean also that you can got more skill in less time = more fun

I personally like the system as it is now, but I can understand the demand for at least a small queue system.
Of the two choices, I would prefer a queue system, but only a small queue, like one or at max two skills. Going beyond that is just too hands-off for my tastes and I think everyone should have to log into their accounts every once in a while.
Also, the queue shouldn't work on disabled account. Let the current skill training continue, but if you want the queue to work, then pay the subscription.

I think they should add a 24 hour que... where you can pick what you want to be there, change it whenever you want. but it'll only start when your current one finishes. I think it should be given a pentalty too... like 1/2 or 2/3 training time. Until you re-activate your brain though and start training like normal.

A 1 skill long que would be ok.
The skill you are training + 1 other skill.
Whatever CCP decides, I am ok with it.

A 1-skill queue would be fine for me. It would let me start up one of those 6-8 hour skills that are hard to find time for.
I wake up and leave for work during the daily downtime, so from Midnight till 4pm I can't change skills. If I start one of those 6-8 hour skills, it takes the entire time I'm available to play. 1-skill queue would let me still train them, use my 6-8 hours of available time to focus on training shorter timed-skills, and not allow rampant abuse.

Just one. Just one skill in the queue would be lovely.

So if I wanted to leave the game for a few months could I just start training a battleship V and then queue up another one? When I came back would both be done? _______________________________________________________________________

I think the best way to manage is when your skill finishes, it automatically starts training the next level of that skill (if the relevant tick box is checked). That way you only have to manage it when your skill finishes level 5. This would make it easier for those in bed/work/uni/oppressed by the wife moments we all have to endure.

One skill que only. Enough to allow RL interferences (work, school, sleep) to effect your EVE life only a little.
