This will be a low sec empire based POS. So with all the threats that exist in low sec I am curious how this would stand up to aggressors. I am rather inexperienced with POS's and how combat with them goes so any tips would be appreciated, I can even deal with a few "lol nub" flames as long as it is helpful

Looks quite solid setup. Just remeber to mix damage types (EMP & Fusion ammo). And if you have defence gang coming in after reinforced mode get around 6 to 8 Osprey cruisers fitted for shield trasfer ready near by. With that setup you would need to drop quite hard on someone toes to get them to attack it with dreadnaughts (dreadnaughts ofcource kill it). Would be quite uncomfortable to remove with battleships only. If you have additional CPU to spare drop 1 or 2 sensor dampeners in there also (just as added annoyance to non dreadnaught attackers).

Edited by: Anni Zayn on 05/02/2007 14:51:11 Thx, my main intent is to "deter" the roaming BS gangs and such. I have an additional question tho, how exactly does a battle go with POS's. IE they come in, attack until shields are gone then all guns and such go offline etc ? Is that the process in short, I am just trying to gauge how much reaction time I would have.

Without Dreadnoughts, your enemies would need a massive amount of BS to take out the POS shields on a Medium Control Tower. A good trick is not to put 24 hours' of Strontium into the tower. Since a POS assault is a major undertaking, corps need to do it at a time when they have the most players online, based on their members' own timezones. With 24 hours of Strontium, your POS will come out of reinforced in your enemies' prime time again. Putting 18 or 30 hours' worth of Strontium (if the POS can hold that much) is usually a good bet, as long as you have a few members in each timezone who can repair the shields.
