Hey Fellow Pilots,
With the recent implementation of Skill Point Injectors / Extractors, I have noticed that the skills that have been fully extracted from are showing as Level 0 (Obviously).
As an unfortunate pilot suffering from OCD, this slightly (well... greatly) bugs me when I open my character skill sheet. I have extracted the SP from the skills such as mining and refining etc as I have no interest in that aspect of the game and never will do.
Will CCP consider the option to delete unwanted skills from a characters sheet?
I know there will be people mentioning "consequences etc etc" but skills such as 'Mining' are automatically given to characters and are not given the choice like they were back in the day (2004) when you could choose your lineage and focus solely on a combat character or trade character and so on.
Does anyone else feel the same as I?

Well I think they did not want to that since it means if you for some reason want to have those skills again, you have to buy the skill books. |

That would not be an issue for most as far as i'm aware as all skill books (including mining) are available from most highsec NPC stations?
Obviously if you delete a Titan Skill book then that would be expensive to replace but at your own fault. For other skills such as mining and refining etc, these skills are worth mere thousands of isk rather than millions. |

This has been discussed previously. To my knowledge the official response was that the support team did not want to be inundated with tickets along the lines of "I accidentally deleted my skillbook, can you fix it CCPls?". |

Just have it so it costs 20% of the book price to extract it and it gives you a copy of the book. That way if you do it by mistake you can just reinject it and people won't be keep to use it to safely transport expensive skillbooks by injecting/extracting them.

I like that idea!
Would solve the issue of 'accidentally' deleting skills!

Make it cost 500 AUR because at the end of the day, it's just cosmetic. |

Does it remove skills that you have injected but not trained to level 1 OR just skills that have never been injected and are untrainable? |

Someone without OCD would ask you, why completely remove the skill making me (or anyone for that matter) have to purchase the book again? That is of course for some odd reason I would like to train this again.

You wouldn't 'have' to remove the skill, but it would be nice to have the option if you so wish. It's more of a 'keeping things nice, neat and tidy' sort of OCD

It does not look any different from 'I occasionally thrashed my ship' which works once for account (at least i got this note from GM when i created such report back in 2010 i think).
At least this can be implemented like deletion of chars on account.

I would love to be able to delete a skill, however, you should never be able to extract the skillbook as it would ruin the skillbook ISK sink |

The reality here is that basically all the skillbooks in the game can be injected at once with the 4 titans being the most of course, wth all 4 being 22bil isk, and the rest being iirc around 8bil or so total.
Ironically being able to buy and inject the main skills, up to titan, would be a worthy goal and accomplishment in and of itself in the game for players as it represents the bulk of usable skills for anyone. Even having all of them injected is a significant isk value being in the range of 30bil isk to do as well as a significant epeen value that even though you got a bunch you dont ever use or need on the toon the toon itself CAN do all these things too in the future. This represents a sellable intrinsic quality to the character itself.
OCD my ass you should be OCD the OTHER way if you ask me. What skills DONT you have injected scrub?!?!?! You poors?!?!
But thats my thoughts on that.

In all honesty, I don't care about having any reimbursements.
It is up to one self to make sure, what you delete just as it is when selling, buying, injecting and extracting.
I just want those 0 skills out of my sheet. They annoy the hell outta me. Like a mosquito with lights off trying to sleep and impossible to find the bugger, when turning lights back on.
So Yes CCP. Please make it possible to get rid of untrained skills in our char sheet or hide them.
And if you guys are afraid of support tickets from players accidently deleting something really shiny and expensive. Make a disclaimer that it is on own risk when doing so and are not supported in any ways.

I have actually been informed that you can actually 'hide' level 0 untrained skills. There is an option that CCP have implemented in the same menu section as "Show untrained skills" etc. Its at the bottem and you can hide all untrained skills.
This has helped my OCD alot.... but still a little annoying knowing that they are actually still there. |
