So i have a Vexor and it's great fun watching my swarm of Drones shoot down Rats, but I'm looking to prepare for the next step.
What class ship is a good move after the Cruiser class?

Battlecruisers. Myrmidon for you since you're using a Vexor right now.

Myrmidon's are nice, but you could go for a Dominix, if you so desire. Domi's are the battleship which is easiest to use of all battleships for an underskilled character - once you have trained up to heavy drones, you can get benefit from the improved sise of the domi and its drone bay compared to a vexor.
Although Myrmidons have a lot of merit and benefit in a similar maner to domis with their large drone bay. Either is a valid choice for a drone lover.

Myrmidon (Battlecruiser) handles about the same way as a Vexor, but with more firepower, better tank and slightly less agility... and you should already have most if not all of the prerequisites to fly it well if you were flying Vexors before. You can then skip battleships altogether and focus on command ships instead.
Alternatively, you can go directly for battleships (Dominix), but you might find it a bit too sluggish for your taste, and the increase in firepower compared to the Myrmidon is not that major (neither the tank to be honest). However, for PvP, a battleship is *the* way to go instead of BCs, if only for the fact you can fit heavy NOS, and nothing else.
So if your focus is PvE, skip BSs and focus on BCs, otherwise go for BSs directly. _ MySkills | Module/Rig stacknerfing explained |

An odd twist would be going for the Ishkur. It's a lot of training time, but you'd keep alot of mobility, and retain a good amount of droneage. ------------------- My opinions (ie, all of my posting here) are not my corporations. Nor should it be taken as such.

Wouldn't it be better to go BC>BS regardless of what you want if only because getting a BC is cheaper? Besides, getting in your BC to perform decently costs an extra 2(?) days training time over just skipping it....hardly game breaking.

Yeah.. Definitely go for a Myrm as its extremly easy to get into a functional one with your current skill set and then once your in it and feeling happy start training the 20 odd day gal cruiser 5 for an Ishtar.. Multiple reloads of heavy drones on a Cruiser sized ship FTW.. And it tanks very nicely too with just a standard Vex setup.. So extra slots and HAC resists FTW there too..

Edited by: Zed Ligis on 14/02/2007 00:07:40 Thank you.. I think I will go for a Myrm first (looks like somthing I will have fun in) then move onto the BS. I like the BIG drone bays. More Heavy drones for me. ^_^

Battlecruiser is a nice step up. If you have the isk maybe train for a HAC to then train for a command ship. That will be over time but the nice thing is that training up battlecruiser and HAC will allow you to use a command ship, so there is no wasted time.

Idk what you are doing with your time, but if you plan to do level 4s then you would need the BS.
