Ok i`ve looked into invention, not tried it yet but i`m just looking for clarification of some points from people that have done invention jobs to see if what i think is correct, please no comments on cost worthness of invention as i dont care, all i want to gain from this thread is clarification of game mechanics for invention.
datacores can be gained from - research agents in exchange for rp points - exploration sites - market
encryptors can be gained from - buliding via items and bpcs from exploration sites - market
to invent you need the following - combination of x amount of various datacores - type of encrytor - bpc of t2 item to invent - t1 or meta item to match bpc - combinations of these vary and required info can be found on the bpc
do the datacores become lost after a successful or failed invention job ??
do the encryptors become lost after a successful or failed invention job ??
i assume if i was to get for example 3 mechanical datacores 1 estreic encryotor i would have thewse for ever to be used on more inventions, is this the case ??
if so i assume by utilising different r&d agents i could abtain a set of various datacores ( a library so to say) ??
using the previous example if i require to use for a job mechanical and say rocket datacores then my chances of a successfull jobbie will be increased by have the accomaninying science skills at a higher level.
the above is what i think will happen so confirm or trash my theory as i`de rather have a clear picture b4 deciding on invention as something todo in addition to other thing i do in eve,

not quite correct, but close...
Interfaces can be gained from - buliding via items and bpcs from exploration sites - market (buy from other players building them, no npc seeding).
encryptors can be gained from - exploration sites - cosmos sites (some cosmos sites dont seems to drop all types anymore). - market (from players explosring or cosmos grinding, no npc seeding).
to invent you need the following - *a interface - *combination of x amount of various datacores - t1 bpc (use max run copies pls) of t2 item to invent
otional (increases chance/me/pe/runs) - type of encrytor - t1 or meta item to match bpc
*combinations and types of these vary and required info can be found on the bpc
