Hello, i'm a newbie and i did download a pdf guide which i tought that could be a good strating point to learn basics of Eve. I did dowload the " ISK Industrial-Sized Knowledgebase " vol 1 here -> http://www.isktheguide.com/ <- . When i saw the page number thirteen i saw an ad who says this : " 99% of Eve Online players use Battleclinic ". With a link to three differents sites, one named "Killboard", an other named "Loadouts" and another last one named "Evemon Skills".
So, first of all, i want to be sure i did understood well about the one named Loadouts. Is this Loadouts a site to trade items from Eve with other players ? I'm not sure of if, want to be.
Next is that i just tried to register on the Battleclinic site, here ->http://www.battleclinic.com/register.php<-, it says that registeration didn't suceeded. I tried three times so i'm sure i didn't failed one thing when i did fill the fields. So i ask you : is this normal, maybe site isn't runing anymore ? I can't see much recent posts on the main page ( i mean here ->http://forum.battleclinic.com/<- ) so i think that maybe this site is dead ?
About the Evemon i understood what is that. So it's o.k i'm gonna register later. Or maybe you recommend me to use another skills management site ?
To conclude this post : i just want to be sure that i use/subscribe to the good sites, so if i'm loosing my time with all of this or if you got any recommendations regarding the sites i should use tell me.
I don't speak very well English that's not my maternal language so i apologies for the mistakes, i try to do it the most understandable.
Thank you for your attention. |

I use Evemon I think it is a great app. I have never registered for anything with battleclinic or Evemon and I don't use battleclinic for anything but to download the Evemon app.
Loadouts are just another name for a ship fit. I've not used battleclinic for loadouts since the rebalancing several years back. |

I believe Battleclinic has closed for any new activity. You can't register because it's closed.
I'm guessing the guide you downloaded has not updated its links. Evemon however can still be found if you go to the Skills discussion forum on this site.

As mentioned above, Battleclinic is expired.
Otherwise, the game changes from year to year, so the player-made websites and programs that are related to EVE also change.
Here is the EVE University list of useful EVE tools.
Look through those and see which ones you find interesting. Personally I recommend EFT, it's awesome.

for killboards, zkillboard.com is a popular one.
I'm running again for CSM 11, and I'd appreciate your vote.

I use o.smium.org as my ship fitting tool... it gets me in the ballpark.
The forums, EVE University, zKillboard, reddit and my most used: YouTube are my primary research resources but there are some good organizations out there for knowledge as well. Wingspan and other groups pages show up on search engines pretty well, so your best friend might be your favorite Search Engine.
Oh yeah, forgot the best education source... TSoHK.... The School of Hard Knocks. Don't be afraid to get out there and try all kinds of stuff. You learn what works and it sticks with you better that way. Don't be afraid to lose ships, try a dozen fittings, hammer away at something that's hard, or even die... you come right back. Just go and do... make EVE yours.
Be Positive GÇó Change yourself first, New Eden will come later GÇó EVE is Awesome GÇó CCP isn't the enemy GÇó Players are people too GÇó Where're the clothing blueprints GÇó Yeah, I'm still learning this game

I use EveMon for 'Character Management' Download it from here: https://forums.eveonline.com/default.aspx?g=posts&t=6765&find=unread).
For ship fitting I use Eve Fitting Tool or EFT as it's more comonly called. Download it from here: https://forums.eveonline.com/default.aspx?g=posts&t=24359&find=unread
On sites I usually look up EVE University, zKillboard EVE Survival and ofcourse Youtube. The latter is probably best for a new player since it's much easier to grasp EVE when you see a video then when you read a wall of text.
Other then that I can just say Pandora is 100 % right above in that TSoHK is the best education. Getting your ass handed to you and then (if your cool about it) perhaps get some pointers from your ship killer. |

I would like to thank you all for your precious replies. Feel happy that i can now see more clear about all that stuff. Now i do understand that when i was thinking that the " loadout " site was a place for EVE's items trading between players ( like post annouces to say : i got to sell this and i want to buy this ) i was in a big mistake. I did search for the meaning of " loadout " but i didn't understood it well so i was in a confusion. I was wrong cuz i'm learning English and it seems that i was very clumsy there :p. Anyway, thank you all !!
I did tried to give you all a " like ", you know when i look next to your portraits i can see " likes " with a number, but i didn't found yet how to do it, when i click on your portrait i see more details from your character but there's nowhere a thing where i can click to do it ! So if you tell me how i'll do it.
Dani, i do declare that you're right ! Pandora's school of hard knocks seems to be a good way to learn about EVE. Thank you for the tip.
Hey Steve i did seen your signature, i don't know what's CSM but i understand that you need votes, i just took a look to your Twitter's link to try to understand what's CSM, so i could vote for you if i feel it's good that i take this decision, just don't want to vote now because i don't know what's about that vote. So maybe you can give me a link for my understanding ? And give me the instructions -> where can i give you my vote if i decide to do it.
Have a good game folks. Bye bye.
( sorry for my English level, try to do it the most understandable ) |
