I had an idea.. as a newbie it would be great if there was a thread were people explained why they liked a certain ship so much. Maybe tell about an accomplishment you have done with the ship, but most of all why you rather fly that ship than something else :)
You could post fittings as well but that's not necessary since there are so many threads for it already.

Well as ugly as it is, the Tempest is sofar the only ship I've flown where I was having fun the whole time. Hurricane is close, but I just love BSes. I'm going to give the Maelstrom a shot and see what happens, but I have a feeling that I'll be back in a Tempest again soon.
Just wish it looked better.

Well, for me it's the Harpy. I got my first solo kill in it. Yeah, I have kills in gangs and what not, but my first 1 on 1 win was in my Harpy. T2 Blasters 4TW!

If I had to pick a ship that I would be forced to fly for the rest of my time in EVE, i'd go with a (beam!) Crusader.

My personal favorite is the Punisher. Lots of ways to fit it, very forgiving to fly, and even crappy fits can do good stuff. Plus, it is SO DAMN SEXY!

First it was the rupture because of it's ability to fit good guns and still have room for a 1600mm. That thing shreads with it's double damage bonus. Then the hurricane prices went down . . . The thing is a frickin rupture on steroids.

Harbinger, great DPS (for an amarr ship), and has the space for a 1600 plate without RCU's. Taken on a couple of BS' and won with it so far.
I can fly an abso in a week, so we'll see how that pans out.

Looks like a futuristic locomotive from hell, fast, hard/impossible to catch if you know how to use it, decent cargo.
Combative: So far, possibly the enyo, as I've had so much experiance in the thing, then again I've just gotten into inties and had a crash course with one not too long ago, so things may change.

Fun-to-fly award: the Arbitrator. Cheap, easily fitted and can do almost anything. I've taken down Thoraxes and drone BSes with my favorite little droneboat. ;)
Awesomeness award: the Armageddon. Insane DPS, and you can even fit a more than decent tank if you sacrifice a laser slot. I've tanked and taken down my friend's Raven setup with it, but I haven't taken it into full-bore PVP yet. We'll see how it does.
PVP award: the Vengeance. Tanks like a brick wall, goes fast and does decent DPS. Makes an excellent PVP tackler.
WTF? award: the Bestower. Yes, the Bestower. Never underestimate the power of NOS, ECM and web on this vicious little indy. ;)
I have to say I think the Armageddon is my most favoritest, although the Arbitrator and the Bestower will always have a special place in my heart. Go team indy!

Scorpion - no doubt, love the model, could do alot with it. Made gang members very happy to have me around (since it was such a good support ship). Then they nerfed ECM - so it sits around collecting dust (so much cheaper to use/lose BB's).

In addition to rupture/hurricane seen in earlier post, I also have to add the Imicus, NO ONE EVER expects to get pwnt by a imicus. But when you got 70-80 dps and an easy 1600 armor on a frig most other T1 frigs tend to get blasted to pieces. Even taken on double "newbie" destroyers, as well as a well fit "though poor SP since it was alt" caracal.

It has high resists, and (for a frig) can fit a pretty good tank as well as put out fairly good DPS. I use it for ratting in 0.0, running 3/10 complexes, and flying support for friends in lvl 4 missions. For missions, I kill all the frigs as fast as I can, then once all the BC's and BS's aggro on me, my friends in their BS's can do all the killing.
I can't use too much T2 stuff, but here's what I use:
4 Modal Neutrons
Gistii A-Type AB, Langour Webifier
Small Armor Repair 2, Magnetic Stabilizer 2, EANM 2, EANM (named)
It's a lot of fun, and it looks secksy.

tough....Ummm it would either be the pilgrim or zealot.
Zealot for its 7 lows great solo ability and very good dps.
Pilgrim because i like to cloak,plus its great for soloing which usually isnt the case with recons.

For me its really a split between two...
Black bird because I've just grown quiet attachted to it over the years, its a solid ship and does well in its role. The ECM nerf really made me rather upset but I still use it some times.
My new baby are amarian inties (mainly the crusader) they look awesome, and are loads of fun to kill stupid low sec people with.

Zelot - It has good versitility with beam/pulse setups, its great damage, and I simply love winning in Amarr ships. Especcially since everyone and their sister flys minmatar now for the speed.

Joint between Falcon and Bulture.
Falcon is just 100% pwnage in gangs. Cloak + ecm = no primary to call lol. Wreaks havoc just in overall intel of the fleet ^^
And then the bulture - solo-pwnage-love...lacks huge dps, but has the tank to make any fight last long enough to swing in its favour ^^ Plus with a passive tank + 35k hp - What more can you ask for? ^^ Took on a raven + scorp WHILST tanking sentries and if they didnt have wcs in all their slots, i would have killed both. 
Depends what system i fly em in tho:P Some systems (blue systems) are awful and make the ships look like theyve been dunked in bleach. However red systems make em look Rattlesnake guristas style....omgah sexy.

Seems lately I've had the most luck in a Stabber or Stiletto. I'm kinda soft for smallish speedy ships, just zoom around and pew pew. I usually fly in gangs tho.

i am quite newbie with my little experience i love my drake, i can solo every single lvl 3 mission with it and i can join my corp mates(we do some for me to:)) lvl 4 runs as a cruise/frig popper with it, nice resist, good passive tanking, not so bad fire power(for my crapy skills ofc).
but look wise i adore caracal, thats why i am aiming cerberus atm.

Thorax - with t2 fitting and drones it outdamages some battleships in close range encounters and is missed as primary becouse it's cheap.
Advice... if you see an old player flying a rax in a gang make him primary

I love the Rifter. Nothing I have ever flown has been quite as much fun. Versatile, deadly, and it can actually tank fairly well for a frig.
I prefer passive tanking it, myself.
Other than that, the Hurricane is my new best friend. Of course, I tend to set it up like a rifter on steroids too...

Abaddon - tank and gank like crazy, 1000 DPS, 15,000 armour and 75% resists without pirate implants is where its at :-)
Curse - Damps, speed, nos, drones.... Absolute tackling / killing machine away from gates.

Up until recently I flew Rifters almost exclusively. Not only does it look cool, it's also tough as nails. 5/10 plex runs in my shield tanked Rifty were sooo much fun
Having said that, just bought a Hurricane. Now that is one nice lookin' ship!

I can fly a retribution too, just like the tad extra speed on the punisher :D
That and I haven't found a nice comfortable build for the retribution whereas that punisher one is nice and cheap and reliable.

Well this may come as a suprise for some, i like the MOA as a support class cruiser for fleet ingaements or small gangs.
With good skills and right ammo type ya can hit at 100km plus, brilliant for the light weight sniper also a resonable shield tanker. ya won't get called primary in this ship inless half ya gang is dead
With a good set up ya either get the kill mail or come near the top for shear damage out put on ship types but BS, i've certianly competed with a few BS on kill mail with this ship
My 2nd favourite is the tempest with 1200's fitted for fleet engaments with armour tank and few EW mods for luck. Thus giving me an edge over the standard fitted ships i may fight  Once agian a medium range sniper with right ammo choice and suitable for just off the gate work with emp, i also enjoy the tracking of the 1200's better.

The Burst, it's small, cheap, agile and has a nice mining bonus.
If I could want any one ship from the eve universe and it would appear in real life it would be the Burst, i'm not into all that war and stuff.

Dominix. Is there any more versatile ship in the game than this one? I think not. It can tank, armor or shield. It can go for the total gank, thanks to drones and hybrid damage bonus and plenty of low slots for damage mods. It can Damp and web and scram while still putting up a heavy armor tank. It can snipe with Sentries and Rails. It can fly at ridiculous nano/istab speeds like the Phoon and Nos you into last week. Is there any job this ship can't handle with at least complete competence, if not total excellence?

Vagabond. I like The idea of a Guerilla warfare ship, and i <3 flying this about on my own, chasing things, being chased etc. Also with the prow of the ship, it looks like a little dragon (look at it, if you can see it its pretty cool)

I guess its the Drake. I use it for most my combat missions. Its also the first ship I'm pimping out(T2 gear and rig wise) totally. I guess dropping 300 million isk shows some love, heheh.

Totally agree, which is why all other T1 battleships need bringing up to par with this monster, or the Domi needs nerfing into the stoneage. When i used to fly with Jamesw in Reformation, I saw him do some crazy **** with that ****, crazy ****.

It fits what I wanted to do with the megathron but couldn't.
A HUGE tank, 8 guns (no nos 4tw), and drones as defense from smaller ships rather than as added dps to the larger ship. (read 5x med drones and 10x light drones , or some combo of that)

Raven.
Used to be the scorp, because it just looked so cool, but the ECM nerfbat means I fly rohks in fleet now.
However the raven holds a special place in my heart, because I still remember well fighting a frigate wolfpack in one, solo. And it was quite a long, running battle - I managed to warp a couple of times, but each time they were on me before I could warp again. The wolfpack was big enough, that it was a 'serious threat'. I eventually won (well, got clear, and killed a few of theirs) but it was a really intense experience.

I liked the Bellicose.
It has a nice bang for the buck and it never really let me down. I know the rupture is tougher but the Belly always puts a smile on my face. It looks good is fast and packs a punch for just under 4 mill.
I'm flying a lot of level III missions now and there my Cyclone does a great Job. I'll keep it for that.
But I'm selling my rupture now will get a get a belly back to clown around lowsec.

Purely because its the s3x.
It could have no bonus's and a 3/4/2 slot layout and i would still pick the mach. One of the best hull designs ever.

My nanophoon.
I've pimped it the most of any ship I've ever had, faction this and that...she can't really do much damage but for the sheer "OMGWTFIHATENANOSHIPS" reaction it's the best.
Guess I'll sell her soon before they get nerfed to get at least a portion of my investement back, 'cause spending 300m+ on a ship to make it do only one thing well is obviously overpowered.
Aside from that?
Gankmuninn, 720mm IIs and 3x Gyros = lolz-I'm-top-damage-dealer-again.

give me my pulsader with its 150DPS at 9km, I don't mind being on inty cleanup duty
and when I'm feeling adventurous I might just go with beams and give some crows a run for their money
lovely ship, though my opinions are skewed by years of experience in one... still, for me, it's the ship of choice, and I can fly all t2 frigs and dictors...

pilgrim- it stealths, noses, drones, tanks, EWars, looks good, fairly quick, scary to see uncloak next to you when your mining in an osprey in a 0.4 alone... :P
Pilgrim is the perfect ship.
