Null sec is currently suffering from a major problem of not being able to detect cloaked recon campers. they do not really do anything, but sit in the system, cloaked. This causes miners, ratters to stay docked making it stagnant. while pvpers cant find or kill them. there should be a way to detect them.
we request that the shipyards of CCP begin work on
o A ship that could detect them. o a deploy structure acting similer to a probe
if memory serves, there was talk of a system ownership sensor capability. to detect ships in the system even if cloaked.? is this in the works or already released. |

1. This topic has been done to death. Here is where you should have posted.

If you need to ask this question, it means you don't even know what tools are available in game to deal with the situation. Why ask for new stuff when you haven't used the old stuff?
btw, this is an example of old stuff. |

Has been discussed previously with the new structure releases and there's still argument over it.
A number of CCP devs use the excuse 'an AFK camper has never killed anyone'. Of course this is a weak argument since there is no way to determine when and if a camper is AFK. Also, unlike in wormhole space, force projection is a major issue in null. They can simply de cloak, tackle and light a cyno to bring the entirety of EVE in from 20 jumps away.
Cloaked camping itself does not offer any gameplay value, rather simply fostering frustration since there is no mechanic to counter it other than doing same (not a terribly fun endeavour for either party).
I see the argument for location of persistent campers, but sadly CCP and a few griefers in the community do not.
Currently the best option, if you have the capacity, is to have all ships in your fleet cyno fitted and ready to counter drop anything that comes in. This costs considerably more resources than camping, but there's nothing more satisfying than smashing the face off someone's black ops fleet because they mistook you for carebears. |
