Picard, Kirk (for the original, FTW), Janeway (for actually keeping the crew together through Delta Quadrant. Thats worthy of something), Sisko, then Archer.
Archer to me seems thrown together at the last moment tbh

Yup - some things just can't be forgiven no matter how good the rest might have been. Kirk would have got Wesley a red jersey the minute the set foot on the ship and we would have been spared from hour upon hour of precocious whining and smug technobabble in favour of a mercifully brief, but ultimately far more satisfying, futile death

Edited by: Lucian Alucard on 23/02/2007 00:26:40 *SIGH* Picard vs Kirk?
Lets look at how many ships each have lost ((movies count to))
Lost
Kirk: Bird of Prey, Ncc-1701
Picard: NCC-1701-D ((Stargazer DOSE NOT COUNT, he got it back))
Picard has a brain as opposed to being just a walking testosterone bottle. Besides Picard wore a skirt and as we all know real men wear kilts sooooooooo Picard > kirk

The aggressiveness of Kirk with the smarts of Picard.

QFT. There was more wit and cunning on the bridge of the original Enterprise than among the entire population of the TNG universe. Picard was good, but he was surrounded by dribbling sycophants and marooned in a hellish world of overbearing correctness and cultural imperialism. If ever an analogy existed for the current.... oh, sorry, wrong meeting

Anyhow, I aslo think that Picard is a better captain, however Kirk is a lot cooler!
Doesnt work becuase he WAS a captain. He only started as a commander
Also he owned tbh
Picard > Sisko > ALL else
DS9 / TNG wre my fav, the Original was good but well meh, just not as good as the other 2 mentioned.
I prefered DS9 because of the main protagonists pentiant for tottally switching on your and kickin some arse, then kicking some more then calmly pondering how much more ass he should kick. I was let donw by the weak 'civilian' crew, not even miles / worf / Odo could help thier chances. Mostly the interplay between the warring factions on the station caught my eye
and TBH TNG was made by the excellent crew, LaForge, Data, Riker were all awesome in support of that cool dude Picard. And of course...whoopi goldberg 4tw

For me it's Kirk Why? a - The cheese factor b - Kirk was NOT a racist..if it was female, he'd do it! Colour never bothered him :-p c - He had, Spock, Bones, Sulu, chekov, Scotty etc...He was missing a Deanna..and.. i think omne most impoartant thing he was missing
NO SODDING WESLEY CRUSHER! *goes to takes pills*

Nuff said.
Picard comes in close second tho, all thanks to the actor, Patrick Stewart. His role, sadly, was too much smack and too few hunting white whales :(
Anyone who votes for Janeway ... not only was Voyager the most horrible Trek show ever, no, it also had the most horrible captain. She's got the ship for what, 5 minutes, and gets lost in another friggin quadrant!
