The Trials are over and with them the Succession approaches its final stages. Once Her Majesty Catiz Tash-Murkon sits upon the Golden Throne the Interregnum will be over and the Empire and Faithul will be served by our new Empress in what we all pray will be a long, prosperous, and devout tenure as our Sovereign and Faithful Defender.
The Succession can be divisive. It comes always on the heels of the loss, peaceful or tragic, of the previous Emperor or Empress who, while they reign, are the Spiritual Center for tens of trillions across the Cluster. Present circumstances made this Succession particularly difficult.
The loss of Her Holiness Empress Jamyl I was as distressing and painful as the loss of any of Her predecessors. The Empire faces dangerous forces from within and without. There are difficult choices to be made all too soon in the unknown but rapidly approaching future.
These concerns only intensified the pressures at work as all the Faithful personally wrestled with deciding which of the Heirs they thought best suited to guide us going forward. Each one of the potential successors brought unique talent and skill with which they would have well served the Empire. All of them brought their Faith and their willingness to give all in furthering the interests of the Empire and in Glorifying God. Many Faithful were deeply convinced that their personal choice for our next Sovereign was the correct one. We can be sure any of the Heirs would have served well but only God knows what challenges the next Emperor or Empress would face and what troubled waters through which they would have to steer us.
So, as is the tradition of our Faith, the selection was made by combat. The Champions and their retainers all fought with the greatest bravery, skill, and faithful devotion. While we celebrate Champion Kelon Darklight and his retainers as Victors it is important to remember that in no real sense were the other Champions defeated. Their purpose was not to win a simple contest but to play a role in the revelation of God's Will. A task which they have expertly performed and for which they will be eternally remembered and praised.
Now, at the end, we prepare for the final tradition of the Succession: Shathol'Syn. The Trials mark all the Heirs for service to the Empire. Her Majesty Catiz Tash-Murkon has been called by God to dedicate Her life in service as Empress. The other Heirs are called to give their lives for unity. With their final sacrifice to the Faith they, like the Heirs before them, will die so that all the Faithful may unreservedly unite behind our new Empress and our new Defender of the Faith.

I can express nothing but respect for the skill and bravery of the Champions and their retainers. No matter what one thinks of divinity, their performances were certainly inspired. Hopefully the new Empress will demonstrate as much wisdom in her leadership as her Champions displayed skill in battle. |

I'm very happy to see Lady Catiz Tash-Murkon ascend the throne. I have no doubt that she will drive the Amarr Empire into an age of prosperity and hope.
God willing she sits the throne for many long years to come. Amarr Victor!
What fills the soul?
Something that guides a lost child back to it's parents arms.
Or waves that dye the shores of the heart gold.
A blessed breath to nurture life in a land of wheat.
Or the path the Sef descend drawn in ash.
In the wake of fire.
