Is taking down the scrambler too complicated?

#1. If you see your drones getting popped before getting aggro on another group, just leave. Don't recall them, don't try to pick out who's shooting at you, just leave. Chances are you've aggro'd the whole room and the whole room will shortly be shooting at you instead of your drones. Drones are cheap compared to well-decked-out mission ships.
#2. Fight aligned to something warpable if at all possible. On missions where I end up with isntant aggro at close range, the first thing I do is find a warpable object and start moving towards it. With a little practice, you can warp away almost isntantly the moment things go sour (a la #1).

If the scrambler is an elite frigate and your only anti-frigate weapons cause whole room aggro, yes.

Edited by: Ashira Twilight on 23/02/2007 22:46:27 When I was still flying a raven with a tech 2 tank, I did this mission like so...
6x arby cruise 2x small blasters
tech 2 booster 2x tech2 thermal hardeners 2x tech 2 kinetic hardeners boost amp
2x BCU 2X PDU 1x damage control
Warp in, wait for initial aggro. There will be 5-6 support frigs, a mega, and a domi. Take the domi, then the mega, then start popping the frigs. When the frigs are gone, get some distance between yourself and the rest of the rats. Target the orion and start shooting, part of this group will include 2x domis and some tristan officers. Take the domis, then be sure to take down the tristans. Once those are gone, target the vexors and thoraxes, then the four megas.
I feel this has not been said enough..........IF YOU ARE FLYING A RAVEN IN A MISSION, DON'T LAUNCH DRONES UNTIL EVERYTHING IN THE DEADSPACE POCKET IS FLASHING RED.
And again...
Step one: Wait for initial aggro Step two: Kill everything in the initial aggro Step three: Get some distance between yourself and the remaining rats Step four: Shoot the orion, and wait for his friends to be flashing red before shooting them. Step five: Everything else at this point is in one spawn.
Oh, and rethink bringing in a friend on this mission. First person in gets initial aggro, second person in gets the rest.

1/5 is easy compared to 5/5 ------------------------------------- The difference between a Pirate and an Anti-Pirate is that an Anti-Pirate fights ships fitted with guns!

Really? You want NPC's to be predictable? You don't wish to behave them a little like human players, being a little unpredictable? Amazing...
But they are predictable, every experienced mission runner knows which missions behave differently. It's the newer players that suffer, they loose a ship and often have a harder time replacing it. Anyway, do you want npc behaviour to be so unpredictable that you have to wonder on each and every mission wheither sending out your drones is a deathsentence?

I would not mind that at all. Makes missions far more exciting. ----- FreeHansje

unpredictible /= broken
unpredictable = ships run to back up, or move around in differnt pratrols, or have different setups...
unpredictable /= whole room aggros off of drones because drones are coded bad
yes, yes, I know...it's a feature.

You're only meant to run missions in Ravens, the devs don't care.
