Can someone please share what the exact range of it is? at first it was thought that it was maybe 250km, seems that has been disproved though. I have also heard that it covers the whole grid, but that's pretty vague, any definitive answer?

I think it's supposed to be the whole grid.
That sounds vague but basically it means everyone that is on the overview of the person at the center of the blast. -- .sig apathy ftw |

Has anyone tested to see what happened if a victim was on another grid but within 250km ? -- .sig apathy ftw |

yeah, but some say the grid is 400km, but while doing gaate camps I've been able to see the gate and everyone there on overview to almost 800km, so...
I've also heard reports of friendlies to me being hit at 300km so the BoB post of 250 doesn't fit.

Grids aren't always the same size as far as i know, also, don't assume the gate or any other fixed object is in the middle of the grid. -- .sig apathy ftw |

From personal first hand experience. 250km. Stay beyond that and the DDD won't scratch you.

Actually pretty sure they tested that on the Test server would need to speak to a BH or Dev about it though but I remember them placing peeps of grid (barely) to see if it would hit them.

Unfortunately cannot remember this was some time ago now was sure that it was Sharkbait testing it though I think offgrid you were ok but don't quote me on it and as far aas distance is concerned I am fairly sure it is > than 250k

after finding someone willing to test and with the skills, I can confirm it's 250km. 251km and your ship won't feel a thing. I send my thanks to (anonymous person here) for helping me find the answer.

AFAIK all grids are 1000 KM cubes. I've actually got a safe about 1km off of the end of a grid, and lost 3 drones to the grid behind me from just drifting out of warp. Scared the crap out of me until I realised what was going on and just turned around. Found out you can get normal drones into the Drones in Distant Space section by changing grids without warping.
No, gates are not always at the center of a grid. I've been off of a gate's grid at 200km in one direction, but on it 800 the opposite. -----

Edited by: Apple Boy on 22/02/2007 17:51:42 this just gets better, after a BH tested it on SiSi for me, other alliance mates tested it on SiSi and were getting hit at 400km.
Can any dev share what CCP meant the DD range to be from the design phase and if any of this is a bug or not?

can some CCP employee please speak up about this? lack of documentation and conflicting reports are still very annoying.
one BH tested it on sisi and it didn't hit at 251km, another, hit everywhere on the grid, so which is it?

Its probably both, it may depend on the type of Doomsday that is fired, we are talking about 4 different modules.

i say it takes the whole gride. I hear it was 250km range but that was wrong. Because i lost my covo op to LV titan as i want to watch the DD go off :P i was about 300km away too.
When that happened tho alot of people in the system who camped at station and gates said there screen shaken. So just dont be there really. "There is no avoiding war; it can only be postponed to the advantage of others" |
