New missions will utilize Exploration and Mini-professions to further expand reward abilities.
NO!
and once more just for emphasis
NO!
I argued against exploration having anything to do with agents pre-revelations and i was very pleased that the result was that exploration had nothing to do with agent system
The reasons are quite simple. By defenition you can't "explore" by being told to go to a location and find something. For sure you can do hacking or archaeology in missions but no exploration

I think it is meant as what some of the mish we have now...
(cant remember excatly, but one lvl 4 requires you to find the Last guy using probes(some priest..)...have to probe him out...)
so I think its meant in a way that is more of using the probing systems... not the agents senting you to exploration sites that we have now...
but hey, it can be interpreted either way.
""PvP" isn't only direct person to person combat, it can be very indirect. Selling an item on the market which somebody buys from you is resulting in another guy not getting a sale." Oveur |

You uh, you don't happen to read the stories that come with missions, do you? The agents say stuff about targets being *seen* in certain areas quite often. Chances are high, if they're asking you to find and kill someone, they aren't going to give you a bookmark that's exactly where the target is. Otherwise they'd just tell you to kill them.
I think it'd be nice, more focussed exploration. But not until ships have built in scanners. -----

There is no system in place that I can see to easily pilot your ship through a series of waypoints in empty space, nor a way to keep track of a "fog of war" that reveals explored expanses of space and hides unexplored ones.
These are things that are needed for the game to truly feature exploration.

not signed, variety is good imo. im sick to death of the same old predictable boring missions. and just in case someone says, yeah but new missions, after a few new missions are released, it will get repetitve once again fast.

Maybe I didn't quite explain it very well. I suppose my argument isn't against anything being suggested
Just don't call it exploration, because that is not what it is. Call it say "Search and Destroy" or somesuch instead
I can see i'll get tired of telling newbies "it isn't really exploration, just something a bit different from normal kill missions. the word exploration in mission title is kinda misleading"

You know how agents always give you a bookmark of the exact location of where they want you to go kill stuff? How did they get this bookmark?
Personally, I'd like to see missions that involve you tracking down a deadspace gate, hacking in and getting a data dump, returning it to your agent who gives you a reward.
Now, there could be a perfectly reasonable explanation as to why the agent that hands out a combat mission has an exact bookmark and why the acceleration gate seems to magically work for you.
Makes sense to me that they know by stargate activity or intercepted comms that there is a pirae base "somewhere in this system/constellation/region/overtherebythatmoon".

You are arguing semantics...
...and while I see your point that it's not exploration TBH it's as good a term for it as any. I do like search and destroy - but then it's not always kill missions...

I wouldn't mind seeing missions where -optional- exploration stuff gave you access to extra missions, loot, whatever. It'd be kind of rough if missions requiring those skills were mixed in with the normal lot (well... not really, you'd just get the skill. ;p)

Not /signed, emphatically.
Learn to adapt, matey. I for one am bored rigid by current missions, and can't wait for more variation than "go hear, kill these, come back again" rinse repeat.
Bring on exploration missions! --------
