"All good things come to an end."
I'm sure all of you know that quote. That point in time has come for me. After more than eight (8) years with EVE and more than seven (7) with EVEMon, I have decided to retire my space boots.
Some of you may say "What's the reason?". Some of you may say "Good riddance. I won't miss you.". And some of you may say "Can I have your stuff?".
To the latest my answer is "NO". To the earliest my answer is "I just got tired. Basically I stopped playing EVE since I became EVEMon's Lead Dev.". To the others my answers is "I feel the same about you. Move along.".
A few of you may wonder "What will become of EVEMon?". Well, that's the reason I'm announcing my retirement, to also announce the position's opening.
EVEMon Development Team is looking for the next Lead Dev.
Requirements for the position: 1. A fairly good knowledge of .NET/C# (WinForms) 2. Familiar with git VCS. 3. Basic knwoledge of CCP's XML API.
That's it. That's all it takes.
If you believe you can become the next EVEMon Lead Dev, get in touch either via my EVEMail, until the 15th of May 2016 or via EVEMon's email (can be found on our official website). Those who are considering for applying shouldn't be intimidated from the responsibilities of the posiiton, I will be available to help out and guide the person(s) who will take over, even after I have left EVE.
My subscribtion expires on 16th of May 2016 (07:30 EVE Time) and I won't be extending it, so I won't be able to respond to you after that date via EVE Forums or EVEMail, though I will still be able to respond via EVEMon's email.
That's it people. Desmont McCallock signing off.

Thank you, Desmont McCallock. Now might be the first time we users ever had a chance to say that. Because when we were all newbros climbing the steep EVE learning cliff, we never thought about it. We got immersed in the EVEmon tool and joyously planned all of our Christmas presents wishlists for the next 10 years!
Anyway, appreciation and gratitude mate, o7

So it's YOU! My compliments, good sir. EVEMon will indeed be in the annals of internet history. It is a digital gaming staple. It's hard to think of a more useful, practical and can't-do-without-it software application. The one fortunate enough to fill this dev slot will at the same time take a position in this vaunted history as well.
It's certainly good to see you surface even if it was to say farewell. Thanks for all the significant assistance you've given us all over the many years. May fortune smile upon you and the road before you.

I wish CCP could pick up this torch and make official 3rd party accesories that start to cover multiple devices (pc + tablet + mobile).
Besides the tools, you could add minigames to those special devices, and those minigames can be paid as "cheap extra content"..and i bet it would finance itself. |

I'd like to join the rest of the community in thanking Desmont for his work on EVEMon these last 7 years. It has grown into a larger application and ecosystem and maintaining it is no easy task.
I've been playing EVE for about 10 years and EVEMon has always been the first third party program anyone would tell you to download when you first joined a corp. I'm excited to get started continuing Desmont's work and honored to be leading the project at the beginning of a major shift in New Eden with Citadels and the coming related patches and expansions. I'm sure there will be a lot to do to make sure EVEMon continues providing an excellent tool for informing decisions in our EVE careers. |

First post, to say I've always been a big fan of EVEMon, and in turn a big fan of yours. You've done a wonderful job with the tool so far. We can only hope, the person you choose does at least half that and it will still be a great and invaluable tool for all Eve players. I wish you luck in whatever you get into next and congratulations on winning the game. Farewell Mate o7 |

just here to say: thank you! EVEMon has always been mandatory. Maybe for some ppl it became less important with skill queues, I don't know. For me it was always the one tool to install together with the eve client itself, so take care, fly (or walk) safe and hopefully come back one day, without the urge to achieve more, just to hang around with some bros!
Thank you for this quality piece of an eve-life-enhancer! In love.. Cecil <3
