Just started the game a couple of days ago, finished the career missions and move to my corp home station. Im doing some quest to gain some loyal points for this (the agents corp which is the emperor family). Have 30m isk atm, but im not really sure what to do know, missions are kinda meh, low isk and they are just giving me the same over and over. |

Unlike other MMOs there is no "must have X ship before you can do something."
That "sucky" you have? Unless it is a rookie ship (the ones you get for free when you dock in a station with nothing but your "escape pod") or a ship that is specifically not designed for combat, it only "sucks" because you do not know how to fit it, fly it, and/or your skils are little lackluster.
With few exceptions, almost every ship in the game can be used effectively for combat. Some may require some supoort to be truly effective (see: bigger ships in general), but that has more to do with inherrent strengths and weaknesses betwen ship classes than anything else.
Take out insurance on your ship. Go for platinum level. Slap on weapons to your ship. Go out into hostile space. Shoot something the face. Die. Rinse and repeat. Convo your attackers and ask them how you could have done better. You may be surprised how they respond. Hell, someone might recruit you if you are cheeky enough.

This is not a progression game. You don't gain levels or gear up to win at PvP you learn how to PvP to be able to PvP well.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=de1hwoFYA_k If you don't want to bother watching the above 45 minute long video I'll sum it up for you:
It's an experienced vet on an alt that was between 10-17 days old during the filming back when new characters started out with 56K skill points. So essentially he had less skill points during the filming of this video than new characters start out with now.
He goes around in a cheaply fit T1 frigate and pwns up against years old opponents in T2 ships.
Morale to the story is that it has little to do with how expensive the ship that you are flying is nor how many skill points that you have but everything to do with how well you know the game.
If you want to PvP worry less about your skill points and expensive equipment and learn more about how to use it. |

If you have done all the career missions you should have at least three combat ships (Atron, Tristan and Catalyst) all of which are very capable. |

I'll echo that this is not a progression game. For $20 you can instantly get almost 1 billion ISK, more than enough for a couple hundred ships. Where you'll need to put effort is finding friends to PVP with; people won't trust you easily, and building a killboard record takes time.
If you don't want to spend the time to look at the corporation recruitment interface, to do interviews, and to join corps and leave them when you find out they suck, join one of the open-recruiting groups: KarmaFleet, Pandemic Horde, Brave Newbies, Red vs. Blue, etc. Go shoot people in the face with them, they should have organized fleet ops almost daily.
Or, join a Faction Warfare group. Or, find a NRDS group (not red, don't shoot = they don't shoot neutrals) like in the Providence region, where you can operate in 0.0 space with plenty of pirate intruders and do some PVE and PVP mixed.

Learn fitting.
If your ship 'sucks' it's because it's not fit properly. I have a Rookie Ship (Velator) that's downright nasty and I can take it up against decent NPC fights. I'll hop in it and go take on a Hideaway and even a Refuge if it's the right one. There is nothing wrong with a throwaway Rookie Ship that can fight well. Best part is, you can usually make them from free parts if you salvage stuff. Free ship, free parts, free ammo. It works great.
So, learn how to do all the parts of the game you think might be fun, then learn at least a little about the 'un-fun' stuff as well since it can show you how to do the fun things properly.
Also, go shoot someone in the face. Go use that throw away Velator and go pick on a Battlecruiser. Learn to get out with your pod. You'll make the BC captain laugh and if you make it under his guns, give him a bit of a fit if he doesn't have a web or small drones. If you can survive a few shots from him and get warp out still alive, give him the raspberry and laugh for tweaking his nose.
In other words, go do something fun and get noticed. You'll have friends and enemies soon enough!

Heck, even rookie ships have been known to win against much better ships. It's all about sizing your opponent, and player skills. There are videos of players taking out Oracles (a Battlecruiser) in a rookie ship -->> the free ship that sucks.
The main reason that 'go shoot something" is the primary advice you get in Eve, is because we want you to go get blown up. Getting blown up is fun. But more importantly, getting you blown up gets you over the fear of getting blown up.
Most people's lack of engagement can ultimately be narrowed down to fear of consequences. Which is understandable. Eve, unlike other games has meaningful consequences, but the upside of that is meaningful accomplishments. The BEST time to go and fearlessly get blown up is in the beginning, while you're still on trial. And do it again, and again.
Do it in the rookie ship if you're afraid of losing isk. Yes, the ship sucks, yes, you'll get blown up. BUT, you'd get blown up in a better ship anyway. In the rookie ship you can work on your player skills, and when you start having relatively long fights in your rookie ship, then you know you are ready to move to a war frigate.
