Sorry if this has been covered already, I have searched the forums for over 2 hours trying to find a simple guide that does not presume you know the basics already.
I've found guides on scanning and on scan probing but I've yet to find a simple answer to my question, which is, how do you find a hidden belt ?
The scanner don't show them and the scan probe guides mainly refere to finding complexes and hidden ships.

If you're in a system and find a Gravimetric signature than that's a belt. then use Gravimetric probes to track it down I cna ytpe 300 wrods pre mniuet!!! Max sig image file size is 24,000 bytes. --Jorauk |

hidden belts are complexes and hidden exploration sites - these ones generally present as gravimetric sigantures the sites usually are like a rock tree type formation with brances and then the uber uber roids hang off those rocks
Once u warp to em u take a mining barge theres no acceleration gates its just like warping to a belt except u use youre explorer probes to find it bookmark it then take a bunch of barges in and mine it out
Quite simple
Complex - type mining site

He may be talking about off grid belts, you used to be able to use the scanner to find them but ccp nerfed that so now its down to luck.

All exploration content is found the same way.
First launch a multi-frequency probe. If you get a result "Gravemetric" it is a mining site. To find it is the same as finding any of the other three types, Radar, Ladar, Mag.

There are actually 2 styles of hidden belts.
The first is the new deadspace versions which can be found using the scan probes and searching for them as if you were looking for a complex. In general these new belts are gravometric signals.
The second, and much older type, are just free-floating belts that were populated along with other pockets of stuff a long time ago (In fact missions used to occur at these sites instead of generating the pocket as they do now). With the re-vamp of the system scanner, these are now next to impossible to find. The only realistic way of finding them now would be to anxidently find one by dropping out of warp early and just happening onto one, or to find somebody who has a BM for one and is willing to share it. Of those two possibilities, the first one is much more probable .
