Faction: unknown
This new faction would have agents based in WH space. These agents would range from lvl 1-5 and be based out of their corresponding lvl of WH (lvl 1 WH = lvl 1 agent, exc.). The agent will send you to go run a mission in system against sleepers requiring that you return a set amount of data centers to complete the mission. In return you will get a ISK payout that is lower than what you would of got if you had just sold the loot but you will also get LP. The LP store for these agents will be based in low sec and will offer the factions ships as well as the ships subsystems.
The ships of this faction will require the corresponding ship skill from all four races and will LOOK similar to Jove ship design. These ships will also use the T3 modular ship design. Bonuses for the ships will not be race centric as in if you had a bonus to dmg it will not be to a specific turret type. Balancing of these ships should place them slightly above current faction and new Tech 3 ships. Price balancing of these ships would be needed as it could get to a ridiculous level considering you need both the hull and all the subsystems to use them.
I would LIKE to see these designed to resemble Jovian ships in some fashion and do not expect that if this idea were to get a LOT of support that it would be implemented any time SOONtm. |

Neat idea, but consider expanding the idea further. What would one of these ships look like on paper, what do you have in mind for its role, etc.
There is also a decided lack of pirate faction ships available - at least 3 sets are missing from the possible combinations. Assault Ships - Retribution Fix and Balancing Proposal for Upcoming 4th Bonus |

Why?

This quote from CCP Greyscale is a bit flaud in my opinion and needs to be taken with a grain of salt. If you don't do anything just because it is cool/neat/awesome you will end up with nothing that is cool/neat/awesome at all.
In general any new feature whether it's necessary, fills a new area of game play, or is just cool/neat/awesome will be just as likely as the last to need painful fixes later down the road. Also, if you never add anything that is cool/neat/awesome your game will eventually grow dull and boring.
Getting fixes in for existing features is great and necessary but it should never keep you from adding new and interesting things.
To answer you a little on this. Because their are no agents in WHs, because their are no modular pirate ships yet, and yes because it would be cool/neat/awesome.

I would rather stay away from posting my own ideas of what these ships would be capable of because I would rather just let the reader of this thread imaging what he or she thinks the new ships could do.
For roles the ships could fill just use your imagination because their is a much larger range of possibilities for these ships because of the fact that they require all four race skill sets and just the fact that the ships would be modular makes for even more possibilities. So many varieties that a separate thread would be needed to hypothesis what they could do. Neut like the Bhalgorn, raw dps like the vindicator, ecm ship, drone boat, the possibilities go on. The same ship could possibly do any of the previously mentioned things due to the different sub system combinations.
The possibilities for this set of faction ships is staggering to say the least.

I can answer the "Why?" question, which I take very seriously. These ships would server the same purpose as existing faction ships with a touch of the flexibility of T3 ships. They would serve as a stepping stone or alternative, but should never be better than T3 ships. You could think of the steps as T1, Faction, T2, these, T3.
That said, I think it would be interesting to find actual Sleepers or a rival race. Sleeper style ships would be awesome. My hope is that Jovian ships, in perhaps a T5 form, will be released someday. |

But consider the biggest of the "cool/neat/awesome" features added to Eve in the last 5-6 years .. the Mothership, aka. Super-carrier, aka. OP-Piece-of-****. It has taken Goddess knows how many man-hours to even get close to a solution to that particular fiasco as they are not done changing it yet, not by a long shot.
What you are suggesting would obsolete all other ships for competitive PvP in one fell stroke, it would truly become ISK/$$$ > All giving all power to exploiters (RMT/Bot) and other fat-cats in Eve (looking at you moon whores!). Not only that, but you apparently want worm dwellers to DIAF as that is the only outcome .. null blocs are drawn to and will take over any easy-ISK streams .. good luck trying to come to some sort of mutually beneficial agreement with that lot. |

Do not be surprised that with in the first hours of the new ships being relaesed that you would see kill mails of them dyeing to T1 ships. This has been and will always be true as long as you have people in game that don't know how to fit or fly a given ship whether that be from choosing your targets properly for solo or making shur you have fleet support.
These ships are not I win buttons no different than the new T3 ships arnt I win buttons.
As far as botters are concerned "botters gonna bot" and balancing new ships and items according to the bloated purchasing ability of this small group of players is the wrong way to go.
If I'm not mistaken I understand that their is already a large corporation that resides in WH space and is taking over systems aggressively and also, arn't null corps/alliances already running WH lvl 4,5,and 6. Even with this their is still room for individual WH corps to exist in WH 3,2,and 1. I think you just have an irrational dislike of null corps.

Flying sleeper 'drones' would be the neatest thing, IMO. I support this if this ends up the case. |
