Ahoy!
I've seen this discussed before for interesting fighter names (hello, Iceland!) but...
How do you pronounce 'Cerberus'?
Is it closer to 'Sir-ber-oos' or, as I prefer, 'Ker-ber-oos'? |

Cerberus, as an English speaker should pronounce it.

I'm... more than a little surprised more people don't do this. I've always assumed Kerberus, in line with the actual Greek.
Damn Americans. There's a certain Boston basketball team I'd also like to pound on for related reasons.

Just don't ask anyone to pronounce anathema.
Or ibis. For most players apparently there is two b's in there and pronounce it ib-is vs. eye-bes (or more accurately 'aibis).

I've always used "jeetah", however, in the Clear Skies movie, one of the characters pronounces it as "jittah".

The hard C pronunciation of Cerberus sounds weird when you shorten it, 'OMG it's a HML curb'
Although, I guess the upside is that 'curbstomping' can be literally getting stomped with Cerburii |

It is amazing to see how English morphs and changes to the needs of the user. This discussion reminds me of the Monte Python skit where a fellow had a name pronounced Thruntwarbler Mangrove, but spelled it Luxury Yacht! |
