Then I see i'm in a Vexor Gallenti Cruiser. 3 250MM Rail guns, 1 small (but powerful) blaster and a smart bomb. Drones, ammo... and I realized I had no clue what I was doing when I left and now i'm trying to find my purpose in this game... Help? No skills in mining or anything like that. Also I see that bounty hunting is out sense everyones in Tech IIs, so any ideas here? This isn't actually the character, Jahn Jumai was my miner...

Heheh, it's like waking up with amnesia.
Umm...try running missions, ratting, joining a corp and going out to low sec or 0.0. -------------

Welcome back.
I just started up again after a long break. Run a few missions, find a corp, do stuff. It'll all come back.

If you need any help contact me in game, I'll see if I can help. Just don't go into 0.0 and lowsec till you know what you're doing again.

That happened to me when I cam eback. I sold all my assest, made a new character and send all the isk to him and started over. Having more fun now in frigates then I ever remember having in my BS!

Some better advice is to just skip low sec entirely as is filled to the brim with gankers/wannabe pirates who think their 1337 *****z and just find an alliance in 0.0.
If you plan on staying in empire, stay in a NPC corp as Privateers will eventually get around to making your play time miserable if you join an empire based corp/alliance.

At least you did'nt re-start with 0.0isk and no ships at all. Damn I was stupid to give everything away.
Free-form Professions, ensure no limetations on professions. Be a trader, fighter, industialist, researcher, hunter pirate or mixture of them all.

I don't mean this to be a corp plug, but you may enjoy joining one of the "training" type of player corps. Agony Unleashed appears to be good, and I'm particularly fond of Eve University, for obvious reasons.
It would be a good chance to ask "newbie" questions, while also letting you connect with some older players that can bring you up to speed on any changes since you left.
Classes also give you some insight into professions, and could give you ideas for where you want to go, and what you want to do. ---- Every adventure requires a first step. Trite, but true, even here. -Cheshire Cat, in "American McGee's Alice" |

I feel your pain. A year after coming back, I found out that my drones suck because drone interfacing was changed and I didn't pick it up, because drone interfacing used to suck with regard to the ships I fly.
Check the item database or the market in game and look at the skills. There's been tons of stuff added, there's been stuff that's been changed, et cetera.
And read the forums. If anything changed, you can bet there was a three hundred page post or ten about the changes.
