I currently have a Faction Standing with the Gallente Federation of 2.88. I started a corp so i can launch a pos in a 0.5 system for research. When i look at the standings through the corporation it only says I have a 0.67 standing. I am the only member in the corp so why wont corp standings match my own?
Second question... what does my standing have to be to launch a pos in a 0.5 system?

For a 0.5 system in Gal space your corp would need a gallente standing of 5.0 inorder to anchor a POS tower.

To add to this, Corp Faction standing takes several days to catch up with your standing. It updates on each DT (supposedly, however mine hasnt changed or caught up with personal standing in several days now which is annoying!)
Altho as above, you will need 5.0 for a 0.5 sys - 6.0 for a 0.6 sys etc

Each DT, the following is applied to your corp's standings,
new standings = (avg of corp member standings that are not 0.0 - current standings) / 4 |

so this means that if all members have 0.0 standing and corp has 5, then:
standing change = 0-5/4= -1.25
thus standing drops?

Edited by: IONZ on 01/03/2007 17:10:32 Well it sounds like no one really has a correct answer.... I know there are lots of formulas but what is the answer from CCP?
I know where I need to be to anchor in a 0.5 system but what is it going to take to get my standing high enough to do this? Do my skills effect this? I have connections trained to lvl 4 bringing my personal standing to 2.88... I run missions and complete story line missions. I have run cosmo missions and and going to continue to do so but at this rate if i am at 10.0 standing i will be lucky to have a corp standing of 4.0.

It sounds like all the answers are correct. The corp standings move towards the average of all members with standings to the NPC faction If the faction is not in your standings list at all, you don't count in the average.
Skills do not affect it, as you can see by doing a "Show Composition" on the corp standings.
Finally, there is a bug in the user interface: If one person only has standings towards the faction, that person will not see the standings updated, however the number shown when you do "Show Compositon" is correct.

Well using this logic I should have the same standing with my corp then i do my character... I am the only one in my corp.
Must be an other solution to this mystery then what i have seen so far.

jeje, no it doesn't drop. The formula just had a typo, that's all. It is:
new standings = (current standings - avg of corp member standings that are not 0.0) / 4
If you have 2.88 it's gonna take you some mission-woring to get the right standings. Also, take into account that for this, the standings that count is the number *before* any social skills.
You can speed this up with 'cosmos missions' but I haven't done any so I don't know the difficulty level of those.
There are a few guides around on how to calculate this standings, with examples and all (including the High Sec POS Faq by yours trullu :) ) , take a look at the documents on the Usefull Links thread.

hmm... than in this case it keeps rising then?
5-0/4=1.25
or regular maths do not work here?...

Your maths are wrong - look at what you've put - i think to end up with an average of 0 is probably impossible

Edited by: Shameless Avenger on 02/03/2007 17:17:41 Whoops, my math was a mess. I updated the post to delete the mistake. Give a minute, let me calculate teh whole thing....
From the FAQ:
Corp standing changes are calculated at downtime. They slowly change towards the average standing of all your (* contributing) corp members. Slowly here is defined as one forth of the difference between your current standing and the average standing.
Daily Standing Change = (Average Standings û Current Standings) / 4
So, you have 2.88 yourself. You make new corp and you are alone in the corp. The corp has at that moment, 0 standings. 2.88 becomes the average standings for your corp. The formula then applies like this (for the first day):
Corp Standing Change = (2.88 - 0) / 4
So your after the first DT, your corp standings will be raised by 0.72. But was already 0 so now it's gonna be 0.72. On the next day, the same math applies:
Daily Standing Change = (Average Standings û Current Standings) / 4 Corp Standing Change = (2.88 - 0.72) / 4
The raise for the 2nd day will be 0.54. It was already 0.72, so it will then be 1.26
The same thing continues each day until your corp standings equal your personal standings. But since your personal standing is 2.88, it will never get to be 5.0.

OK... that sounds more logical. So there is hope... I am running missions so I am sure this will go up with a little more time. No worries!!!
Thanks For the help

Or you can just create a new corp and its standings are that of the CEO that opens it, initially. Right?
Or is this no longer the case?
