Spaceship Command 3 Frigate 3 Industrial 1 Hull Upgrades 1
Lets you fly the basic hauler.
If you want more hauling space or blockade running, go for Industrial 5, Industry 5, Transport 1 and fly the tech 2 versions. Go for Hull Upgrades 2 (allows T2 expanders) and Jurry Rigging 3, Aeronautical Rigging (? not sure of name) for Cargohold Rigs.
And if you want the maximum hauling space, Spaceship Command 5, Advanced Spaceship Command 1, Freihter 1 for flying freighters.
Personally I like the Amarr haulers, the Impel can hold more than any other hauler, and the bestower holds more than any basic hauler with low skills.

1. Warp to 0 means sub-warp speed is pretty insignificant. 2. Modules that might actually make you more agile and thus able to align faster are useless as they take up valuable lowslots.

Navigation, afterburners, overdrives and nanos will make you go faster, but that's not really important. How fast you can align and accelerate for warp is. For that you want Evasive Maneuvering and Inertia Stabilizers.

No an Iteron Mark V holds more then any hauler with 5x Cargo Expander II's, 2 T2 Cargo Rigs and 1 T1 Cargo Rig. Yeah I am a pirate. What are you gonna do about it? |

If you want the fastest hauler on the planet, you would get spaceship command to 5, and evasive maneuvering to 5. The only thing you can really do to make sure you go faster is agility for aligning for warp. If you REALLY want to go fast, train up to transports like someone else said, so you can use a blockade runner. The drawback is they have less cargo space than other haulers. If you REALLY REALLY want to go fast, you would train for minmatar transport ships and get a prowler. Put i-stabs and nano's in the lows, and get some agility rigs. Throw on a MWD if you haul through 0.0, and you'll even avoid some gate camps. In a hauler.
So... the basics are:
Spaceship command 3 Frigate 3 Industrial 1
intermediate skills are: industry 5 industrial 5 transport 1 mechanic 1 hull upgrades 2
crazy tight skills would add: spaceship command 5 evasive maneuvering 5 afterburner 4 high speed maneuvering 1 jury rigging 3 astronautics rigging 1
Ultimate haulage master besides freighter would be acceleration control 5 high speed maneuvering 5 jury rigging 5 astronautics rigging 5 transport ships 5 all the shield and capacitor skills you can get 5

Wrong
It might look that way at first, but follow my logic. The Bestower holds more cargo than the Itteron I, II, III or IV. Like you said though, the Itteron V is the largest haluer among the T1 haulers. You spend 30+ days on learning Industrial 5, and it is only about 6 days more to get to a transport. In the Tranport ships, the Impel (T2 Amarr) holds more than the Occator (T2 Gallente).
So for only 6 days the Gallente is better, but for the rest of the time the Amarr are. Most people dont realize this.

I'm no expert on this, but I played with Quickfit to check this out.
According to Quickfit, if you take the Iteron V, Occator, and Impel, and apply the maximum number of maximum mods (t2 expanders), and maximum rigs (t2 cargo opts) here's what you come up with:
Impel - 39429 m3 Iteron V - 41841 m3 Occator - 38656 m3
I guess I'd only agree that the Amarr are superior if you consider the transports the natural progression of ships from indies to transports. Personally I don't see the need for transports outside of 0.0 and certain low-sec areas. If you're hauling in Empire, or have a good escort the Iteron V is still going to haul more than anything short of a Freighter.
Another consideration is the fact that a t1 industrial costs a small fraction of what a t2 transport costs.

Damn me you are right!
I havent flown T1 haulers in so long, I didnt realize they get 3 rig slots.
So in a pre revelations world the Impel won, but since it only gets 2 rigs to the Itteron Vs 3 rigs, it loses.
You learn something new every day.

To OP: Industrial and navigation skills. To Tulisin: Wrong, modules that help you warp faster can be very usefull in low security and during empire wars. It doesn't matter if you can haul it in one trip instead of two if you never make it to the destination.
