Hey guys, I just joined EVE Online almost. 1 day with EVE Online trial den full subscription, he he. Well just wanted to say hello to everyone.
Got any hot tips, any? Share them please. I am going with doing mining & refining and I plan to produce ships later. But that part is a little dark to me, about production and how to start build ships and weapons.
Anyways, cheers!

Welcome! To manufacture stuff, you need to acquire blueprints and ingredients, typically minerals. Then, ideally, you research the 'material efficiency' of your blueprint at a research lab, which have 3-week wait periods in high-sec. I think you need some basic science skill to do this; I forget. You don't have to do this, but it saves lots of ingredients. Then you right-click the blueprint, choose manufacturing, and use it in a factory slot, which typically have no wait at all.
If you're interested in manufacturing, be sure to train up Production Efficiency, which saves you lots of ingredients.
Welcome! Have fun. And dont grind any one thing; try to keep EVE varied to keep it fresh.

Ok, a tip I discovered yesterday as someone told in the help channel.
So you want a kind of item, like a mining laser, but don't know which one will be better. Go to the item info, at the variations tab look at the bottom, there's a compare button. This only works for items of the same type (type meaning 75mm railgun, not small railgun).
Have fun.

I agree with HAL, varying your routine makes it more interesting. Do mining, missions, manufacture and anything you can to start with and see what you like doing best. Once you've decided, hone your skills for that and enjoy. You can always start training for something else later if you decide to change professions. I started by training for mining, then trained for manufacture and then missions. I am now starting to train more for combat even though I am not good at it.
Think out of the box, Eve is how you decide to play it, there are no rules as that dictate your path apart from the length of time it takes to train skills. --

The most important advice I can offer you is always be willing to learn from your own mistakes.
You wille eventually get ganked by another player(s). At that time, its important to not starting to blame people, but to learn why it happened and how to prevent it from happening again.
GL and welcome to imo one of the best mmo's out there.

Golden rule of EVE: "Don't fly anything you can't afford to lose."
Silver rule: "Never assume you are safe, ANYWHERE."
Otherwise there's WAY too much to mention. Just make sure to ask questions as you run into things.
Oh, and welcome! ----------------------------------------------------

Fly cheap if you don't know what you're doing, it hurts less when you screw up . Everyone's a newbie at one time or another, ask questions if you have a question. Enjoy what you're doing above all else.
Welcome to EVE, hope you like it here .

Welcome to Eve Online. Ship production takes a bit to get enough ISK to really start going, keep at it :) Your signature exceeds the maximum allowed dimensions of 400x120 pixels -Conuion Meow ([email protected]) |

Ship manufacturing (and manufacturing in general) are both skill and capital intensive, people with better skills and better blueprints can undercut you and you simply can't make a profit for a long time.
In the short run, realistic professions for a new player include empire mining/mission running/ratting, and possibly trading in an industrial. Pick up the skills to do one so you have an income source, then you can get to work on manufacturing skills. Also grab the skills needed to salvage, salvage can be a huge supplemental income early on.

Random Tip: learn how to put in sell orders, it would have made my life a lot easier if someone had pointed out to me how to do this earlier on instead of 6 or 7 months into the game, i figured out how to do sell orders about a week ago -_-
You'll probably be doing a lot of missions and selling named loot can really help you out early on if you get nice loot from missions, sell orders are also great if your manufacturing your own stuff to sell :)

Quote: Rampant cheating of money farmers have ruined this game, do not pay to play it. I refer not to the recent CHEATING by the DEV(s), although touted as an isolated incident, is probably only the tip of the iceberg. That one simply got caught. What I am referring to is Eve Online GM's KNOWINGLY allowing MACRO MINING ISK FARMERS to completely dominate the fuel markets. NOONE can compete with a bank of 20 computers running 23 hours a day, 7 days a week. And if you report the infraction (which is forbidden in the Eula) they respond simply with "We'll look into it, No worries...". Well, I'm not worried about it anymore. My 3 accounts are now suspended, and I doubt very seriously if I will return to Eve. I highly recommend that you find another game to play as these guys do not play fair or support fair play. (edit) and I'm not just off some other game, I've been playing Eve Online for 3 Years.
This is from some guy at the MMORPG site. Is it true? Many cheaters?

It's certainly true that the boards are filled with whiners and trolls, all of whom have 3 accounts and quit the game about once a week.
There ARE macrominers, contract scammers, game mechanic abusers and plenty of other dodgy things going on in Eve, but I wouldn't let that stop you having fun.

What can be done to find macrominers and then stop them? Possible to find macrominers?
