About 1 hour ago, the call went out over Northern inteligence channels to bring "Everything, including the Kitchen sink". After about 30 minutes of sorting through the spam of "." in recruitment channels, and a massive scramble for isotopes, the gang was formed. During this time, covert ops ships were were carefuly watching the impressive, and massive capital ship gatecamp MC had put together on the 3-F EFA gate in querilous. Just as we were fianly getting formed, the covert ops had some bad (or so we thought news) enemy support was leaving. It was not quite a leroy, but a very hasty deployent into the 3-f system was called.
The MC force of 2 motherships, and 5 carriers <-- check this, I was very lagged out was immediatly attacked, once people finished loading, order was restablished, and 2 MC carriers were killed. Losses were relativly light for the northern alliances, with 5 ships of all types lost to direct actions, concord got a few from itchy trigger fingers during the withdrawel though.
In all, very good fight, nice to not see a bunch of smack in local, and the salvage was nice.

We used the minitar philosophy of warfare, we brought the biggest baddest guns we could cram on to our ships to the fight, and stupid things like tanking was left to the wayside.

MC lost 2 carriers. Allied losses were as far as I can tell, 3 battlships, something that makes a medium wreck, and a frig hull.

I think we had 4 Carriers and 4 Dreads, against your 2 Motherships and 5 Carriers. We had a fleet of 100+ while you guys had 10-15 FIX as support. Not sure about the numbers, but shouldn't be far off.

As far as I know no one on our side fraps it. It was at max a 5 minute fight. the 2 MC cap ships went down extremly fast, the fight wasn't a battle, hence the "skirmish" heading. It was more like lock cap ship, watch the bars plummet, next... We really were fortunate, because we caught MC in an abosolutely horrible position, 30 seconds earlier or after would have resulted in a lot more carnage on both sides.

This is correct.
Originally by: Jin Steele MC/FIX also lost about 10 support.
This is not, unless FIX ALL got splattered.
There was a lot of other action that led up to this. MC had been holding 3-F on and off all day by using our motherships to break up Coalition camps on the Efa gate. I started early in the afternnon in my Nyx and was then joined later by Waagaa in his Aeon.
We scored several BS and support kills over a few hours of hit and run attacks so we figured the next time the Coalition came in that they'd cyno in some back-up. We counted on that, we even brought in a third mothership, and we should have just left it at that. My danger sense was going off but we figured we'd give it a shot anyway. Our other option was to just sit at a POS. **** that.
For the actual fight the OP is speaking of, there were two Motherships at the gate and mostly FIX support with a few MC. We got word that the enemy fleet, numbering at least 80+, was inbound to the 3-F gate. They jumped in, I started locking and killing and we called our five carriers in (mistake).
Basically, our carriers warped in at the wrong range, at the wrong time, got sucked into a bubble and Demon Murphy got out his Hammer of Doom (also known as enemy cap ships and more support than we expected) and set to ruining what had been, up to this point, a damn fine day of hunting.
I'm not sure what happened to FIX but final tally from our point of view was:
Killed: 4 BS, 2 Cruisers Lost: 2 Carriers
Hardly our best fight, to be sure. Good work to the Coalition. We got a bit overconfident and paid the price. Don't count on getting many more like this. -

^^ Damm right Thanks for confirming the stats. One MC capital a week is good going, getting two down in one encounter just goes to show that the Minie way of duct taping guns to a rusty hull is a good strategy

80 Coalition, 8 of them capitals, maybe 15-20 Battlships, the rest was a hodgepodge of what ever people could scrpae up. MC/Fix had 3 motherships, 5 Carriers and 10-15 support.
