PvP in this game can sure use a boost in activity, perhapse for some players its active enough only for players who play this game a couple of hours a day this game isnt that active in pvp.
A way to increase the activity in pvp in this game would be the implementation of a pvp point system. Starting at 0 you gain points for each kill you make in either high/low/null sec.
The amount of points would depend on fleetsize of your and the enemy's fleet and also the type of ships used. Also in smaller number pvp the amount of skillpoints would be a factor. Also where you had this fight would also be a factor on how much points you get. Also the pvp points difference would be a factor on the fleet members.
For example. Lets say the baseamount of points you get for each kill against a same SP player in close to exact type of ship ( cruiser vs cruiser tech 1 for example) would be 10 points. Now if the kill would have happened in high sec you would get like 75% of the base amount of points. This to motivate people to move out of high sec and into low/null sec. Then in low sec it would be 100% of the basepoints and in null sec 125% of the base points.
Now if i were alone in low sec with 10 million SP in a tech 2 frigate and come across a 100million SP player with a tech 3 cruiser then the cruiser ( who will win no doubt about that ) will not gain the same amount of points.
This ofc is just a small suggestion on how to motivate players from going to low/null sec to pvp and to make it more active. If this doesnt motivate you in anyway then there shouldnt really be a problem there either since it might motivate some.
The good thing about this is is that gatecamps where a fleet of 10-20 ships camping a gate would hardly gain any points from killing 1 ship after a few hours. Also players who play then to get these pvp points up rather choose to play alone or with smaller numbers since that would give them more points. And for those fleets using 10-20 ships or even more fighting same sized fleets in low sec pays off because you would get a huge amount of points if you win. Since the points would then be distrubuted according to fleet size.
Also this is in no way the same as a arena/bg rating system since thats a closed system where this would be a open world system. So using that reply doesnt work.
Kinda wondering what everyone else thinks about this and how they might think this would effect their game. Also if this would motivate them to move out to low/null sec more to pvp. |

So far im thinking it might be just for epeen since thats what most in this pvp has been about. For example killboards are also just there for epeen.
However they can ofc be used together with loyality points to purchase items which reguire a certain amount of pvp points to use. |

The most obvious thing being
1. Make alt 2.Blow up the said alt, repeatedly 3.Profit
And why should it matter if one of the pilots has trained titan to V, if they are fighting in cruisers? |

Yes you can statpad by using alts in a empty system only after some time you hardly get any points anymore since the point difference would be to great. Skill point difference is a big factor in the pvp gameplay, having all relevant skills on 5 just gives you an advantage over players who dont. |

Interesting. Would penalty also be applyed? Lets say eight hull fleet destroying Iterion V or Hulk could get a negative rate? https://forums.eveonline.com/default.aspx?g=posts&t=41496&find=unread

Thought about that aswell. Lets say you are killed by 10 ships alone in your interon then you loss the points awarded to one of the players in the enemy fleet. So if the base points would be 10 divided through the 10 players that killed you , each player in the enemy fleet get 1 point and you lose 1 point aswell.
Or you can also not to lose points but that probably wouldnt be a good thing. |
