Can someone tell me what the rewards are so I can better evaluate whether I want to participate or not. Thank you in advance. |

All my accounts have different "challenges"
One has a "challenge" that expires in 15 mins... It's worth 2,000 ?points? but my other chars have ones that are worth 100-500 max.
But I agree, a bronze, silver, or gold cargo container doesn't seem that valuable to me, unless you can refine it.

I have kill a drifter battleship in a cruiser. I thought they had doomsday weapons that made it impossible to fight them?

Either I have to get hold of a doomsday weapon myself, which I'm assuming is unlikely since true doomsday weapons and infinite points are silly, so only CCP gets to use them. Or Drifter battleships MAY have their doomsday weapon toned down a bit.
I feel one of Eve's greatest problems is communicating information through the game. Even sourcing information from outside of the game client leaves much to be desired. Some of Eve's game mechanics are so obscure and difficult to use from an information point of view that people logically must find so hard to get the information they just give up.
For example and I know this is out of date but when I first started trying to understand invention for modules I would produce max run BPCs because how many runs the BPC had determined how many run the invented copy would get. Of course when I tried dipping my toes into ship invention I knocked out max run ship BPCs only to find out it worked differently and I was better off using single run BPC and had wasted a ton of time on max run BPCs. Doh!
The depth and complexity of Eve is great. If Eve is ever dumbed down players will leave. But the complexity of the game interface - how difficult it is do do something when you know what is it you want to do, but not how to do it through the game interface - is a major hinderance to enjoying the game.
I don't think in my work I have encountered another piece of software with as complex a menu system with bits all over as when Playing Eve. Microsoft SQL, Microsoft and VMWare virtualisation, Sage, BI and reporting tools, WAMP and LAMP running virtual hosts, networks and VPNs. All simpler to manage and use than to play Eve. Possibly the Amazon Web Services cloud console is the only software I use that rivals Eve. It's probably easier to manage Eve servers from the network operations centre than it is to play some of Eve's more involved game mechanics.
