Does anybody ever fly them? They donĘt seem to be useful at all. Are there any plans to make them useful? Maybe allow them to use gang mods and add 100% gang mods bonus? Maybe allowing people in logistic ship to lock others and repair shields or tracking links while in the same solar system and not necessarily in the same grid? IĘm looking for some suggestions as to how make them more useful. It just seems that itĘs such a waste of a ship.

They are typically used in plexes, like 10/10 plexes and in those cases they are worth every penny!

1. Spaceing is your friend
2. They're great for running hellish missions & complexes . But they coud use a boost on they're bonuses since you can easyly outlogistic one of those ships simply by using a BS.

My 1mil Exequror can perma-run (well, until it runs out of 800charges) more than the equivelent of 2 T2 LARs.
If I could get that for 1mil, why would I ever bother with a 20mil (for the ship alone) Oneiros? ___

Logi ships have many uses in many situations. Mission/complex running, sniper boosting, skirmish warfare tanking. It's uses are only limited by its pilots cleverness.

Logistics seem to be great for a very specific purpose. Like a size limited 'plex that is really really hard and... stuff.
Otherwise they can be outdone by the simple "bigger and more" approach with bigger ships.
Maybe what is needed is BS sized logistic ships?

Oh, I don't know, why does anybody ever get a T2 ship instead of using a T1?
Generally because T2 is better at what it does than its T1 counterparts, not to mention the tank ;p -----

Of course you can find other ships to do the same job, and cheaper too. ThatĘs my point. Why bother training and buying this expansive ship? ThereĘs no real upside to flying one, especially within a fleet.
I never see them in space or in combat, so why bother having them in game at all? For mission running only? ThatĘs such a waste of time to train for it and isk to own. Either improve them and make them more useful orą donĘt bother training for them at all.

I just stumbled upon this thread...what I'll post now already has been posted in another thread but I thought it very fitting here so I hope the nice forum mods will allow it
Originally by: Winterblink --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

And as much as I think RL to EVE comparisons are entirely ridiculous, for the sake of discussion I'm going to make one related to the quote above. In "RL", it's possible to perform at-sea repairs on vessels to a point. Engine damage, for instance. But major hull damage? Drydock time.
Now I'm not suggesting that we all be forced to dock to repair our ships, but what's the harm in giving logistics a purpose? By far, they're the class of ships I see the least in this game, largely replaced by command ships and their bonuses. What if combat resulted in a certain amount of shield, armor, and hull damage that was unrepairable in space by repair modules on those ships, and could only be repaired in dock or by logistics ships? Maybe to do so would require some kind of supply (isotopes?) so suddenly being a roaming fleet meant you needed to maintain a logistics and supply chain to make sure your ships were kept in tip-top shape?
Just some thoughts.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The amount of "permanent damage" that can only be repaired in drydock or by dedicated logisics vessels had to be well balanced for the races that prefer armor tanking to not punish them too hard (you also could let some shield emitter curcuits burn out as a perma damage on shields as well when being hard hit)... All in all...I love the idea! I always found it idiotic that you could repair Armor and especially structure without any repair parts or costs.
