I've been here a very long long time and I am asking the powers that be to put forth a little more effort on missions in the Lvl 1-2 areas. Over the years we have given you enough stories, ideas and general complaining that I really do believe that it's time to expand and NOT crossover a mission set.
Player retention would rise because even if they can look up the walk-through they have so much content that they have to stay just to see if a story line is going where they think it is goin.
Now, if this is beyond you as DEV and staff it frightens me to think so...
Because of the time we devote just in building our characters it is a worth the investment of time and resources to reconsider shelved ideas.
I love EVE and think it shall go on forever.... but do consider that as generations change so will the things that hold attention. You pretty much have until they get the bugs out of "Commercial Space Travel" and by then you should be transitioning into training all those who are going to make EVE a reality as humans are too likely to find the fated worm hole and there ya go...
Thank you for your time...

Level 1 and 2 missions are not something that you're supposed to do on a regular basis over a long period. They're a stepping stone and as such there's no real need to enhance them.
Father to a murdered son. Husband to a murdered wife. Truth be told, I've been pretty unlucky.

I agree with the OP, all mission levels should be added to and or updated, not just level 4 missions (Burner).

I have to admit that I fear that the problem lies in the chance that the sheer size and complexity of the kinds of changes that would be needed to make missions honestly better is so dauntingly drastic that the Devs have largely abandoned the thought of the idea. Adding more missions will do no real good, for instance. Changing the way missions work on a fundamental scale, literally rebuilding them from scratch, would do it for me and probably others, but that's a huge risk for CCP to undertake. What if that new system fails to work, is full of more bugs than the current, or just simply isn't enough despite costing CCP a fortune in man hours and resources.
I know what I'd love to see in the future for missions -- they would look nothing like what they look like now, not even for the Burners -- but I can hardly imagine any Dev wanting to spend that kind of literal blood, sweat, and tears in terms of labor and sanity, nor would I really blame them. My only hope is that CCP eventually decides to work on a one-step-at-a-time process to rewriting how they work. As I said, I have ideas, though no clue as to the mountain of work needed for any of them.
"Tomahawks?"
"----in' A, right?"
"Trouble is, those things cost like a million and a half each."
"----, you pay me half that and I'll hump in some c4 and blow the ---- out of it my own damn self."

I wouldn't mind some new missions but honestly I'd be happy to be able to do them in small groups. By that I mean everyone could have the same quest and get credit paid for it. It's annoying as hell to run missions with friends. |

Level 1 and 2 missions are the least of the concerns, even for a true new player and their first character they work through level 1 and 2 missions rather quickly and they are always looking for level 4's anyway and I doubt spending time on improving these missions will make any real difference. In my years in the game I have never heard anyone complain about level 1 and 2 missions being boring until now and that coming from a character that is older than any of mine, go figure.
The long 3.0 to 5.0 grind to get from level 3 to level 4 missions and the level 4 missions themselves are the place CCP really needs to spend time adding some new content.
aldhura wrote:EVE is a PVP sandbox where you can dress your toon up in cool gear. If you nor asking for changes to that, you will get zip.. Again this arrogant attitude rears it's ugly head why? Why does it matter to you what others do in a sandbox game? And why should we all have to play YOUR way? My basic thought is to tell you to stuff yourself and your arrogant attitude, bio mass and leave the game the rest of us will be better off without you.
You are right EvE is a sandbox game, but you miss the essential point of it being a sandbox. A sandbox DOES NOT dictate a specific style of game play, in fact a sandbox is literally just sand and a bunch of tools provided and each player is allowed to decide how to use those tools.
Does EvE have a PvP (shoot others in the face) aspect to it? why yes it does and that is appropriate for a sandbox game, what with tools and the players deciding what to do with them and all.
Is PvP (shooting others in the face) a major portion of the game play of EvE? Yes and no would be my answer. Based on the advertising CCP does one could easily draw that conclusion. On the other hand based on the number of characters involved in the different areas and different activities an radically different picture of the game starts to come out.
In the end none of that really matters in a sandbox game. We are given tools to use and how we use them is up to each player. To use a real life sandbox analogy some like to build sandcastles and others like to come along and kick them down. Either way it is all intended game play and it is all good because it all makes EvE what it is, a unique gaming experience amid the land of me to games. |

If you are running missions as a group then you will all have the same mission (quest as you call them) other wise you would not be running as a group. So in the end I submit that this a problem with you and your friends and not a problem with the game since the game does not prevent you from running missions (quests) as a group. |

Reworking the mission system, basically all scripted content, is a money sink for CCP. Players will get bored soon, when they mastered the new challanges and cry for more ... also making missions more random will kill the holy ISK/h. At the end only a minority runs missions just for fun.

Two of you can't be on the same mission and complete it at the same time. Each of you can take different missions and help each other do them and split the rewards but that is not the same thing. If you are all on the same agents, there are many times that it tries to give more than one of the group the same quest. You can deny it then risk getting a faction impacting quest.. etc etc..
Overall it is not a huge thing but is enough that missions with another people is just annoying enough to make folks pass.
